Don't pick your nose... pick that lock...
Bought these as a bit of a bet really, more a joke, as I don't really intend to be out picking locks all day long. In the passed I have picked a few older locks, mainly padlocks and mortice locks, which was a long time ago and I thought I'd lost the touch. When these arrived I gave them a test run on some old locks I have in the shed, old front door locks I've somehow collected over the time. The picture on here shows bare metal handles but in the package I found a little envelope which contained several soft coverings for each of the metal handles, which, with a bit of a squeeze, slotted over the metal handles to give each pick a more comfortable feel.Once all were covered, I set about picking locks, starting with a euro cylinder lock, which took all of 30 seconds to unlock. Then I tried the same type of lock on the garage door, again, 30 seconds later and the door was unlocked.I tried them in a yale traditional lock, the ones that slide locked when you close the door. This was a little harder to unlock as I had to turn the weight of the lock itself, unlike the euro locks which you just have to turn to release the catch. But about a minute and a half later, and a very careful turn of the tension bar as the lock turned, I released the catch from the lock... job done. Most doors these days are euro locks and, with these, are easy to unlock with very little effort at all. Each pick is made well, and, even if they look and feel as if they could break in a heart beat, they have stood up to some pressure, even though to pick a lock you don't need any pressure really. But the picks are made to handle a bit of hassle. The tension bars are again, built well, although these have no cushioning over the handles, but as you need to feel the gentle pressure, or lack of it really, of the bar then I supposed a cushion on them would give you the wrong pressure and would make picking the lock a little harder. The only negative is that the case is a little stupid, so to speak, dues to the fact that it is not like the one in the picture, it is one where there is a zipper that goes around three of the four sides, two short sides and one long side. This means that you need to unzip the entire length of the zipper, leaving the case flapping on one long side, which means that it's easy to forget that none of the picks are held in place securely, leaving you with picks all over the floor. The case looks nice and holds all the picks and tension bars, but when it comes to opening it you have to be very careful. On one side there is a little pocket which I have put the tension bars in, leaving the picks loose. I am on the look out for a new case which will hold the picks in place properly, maybe one with a bit of elastic in it or something, or maybe I'll try and re-design this one with a pair of scissors and a bit of twine. In all, a nice little set with nice cushioned handles. The case is nice but be careful opening it or you'll end up dropping picks all over the floor.(I'm thinking of making a video to show how easy it is picking a lock using these tools, if I do i'll upload it on here). So, if you're interested in lock picking, or just want to give it a go, (but not on my doors please), then this is a nice set to start with as you'll be flying away in no time.Well worth the money for a good set of picks.

Excellent beginner pick set!
This was my first lockpick set and couldn't be happier. Nice leather case with a sleeve inside to hold the tension wrenches. There are no individual compartments for the picks but they all fit in comfortably. Here is what you get:4 Tension Wrenches - one with a flexDouble ended Tool -W rake and Half DiamondKey Extractor ToolDeep HookStandard HookHalf DiamondBallHalf BallW RakeSnake RakeCity RakeThey also come with plastic handles but they are packed separately so its your choice whether you want to use them or not. They are very durable tools for a beginner who might be a little more 'vicious' when picking locks. They will still break if too much force is used but they are much better than some of the cheap Chinese super sets you see out there. My tools arrived super smooth and I didn't really need to finish them off. No sharp edges like you might see in laser cut cheap sets. The Half Diamond (single pick and the double tool) does look a little unfinished and it could be made a lot sharper to look like a proper one but it still does the job for me ok. I've got a Master padlock (9140EURD) and the city rake opens it in less than 5 seconds. The Deep Hook looks like it's a little too deep but I don't use that as much as the standard hook and the city rake. All in all, I couldnt be happier with this set. I'm glad I chose this over some of the larger Chinese sets out there. Don't get as many picks (cheap sets give you useless fillers anyway) but the quality alone is worth the price. And these can't really be called an expensive set themselves.Perfect beginners set!

Well worth the price...
I had been after a lock pick set for a while now - I am a little OTT (Over the top) when it comes to researching/buying products in which I do not really know about. I wanted a set to learn how to pick locks and enjoy the idea the sort of patience, skill and thinking this sort of challenge presents. This set seemed to be the best priced for what you get and the good reviews had me buy it.When I received the item I found that the 'rubberized' sleeves had not been fitted to the picks. A good idea I must say as I'm sure some people will prefer to have them off - If you do however decide to put them onto the picks (I would recommend so, for added grip) then I would also recommend in one hand having a piece of leather or cloth and the pick itself, and with the other hand squeeze the sleeves onto the pick. I have to say my finger is still a little sore from putting these on, however I have found the picks to grip better in my fingers. My only annoyance was the fact these sleeves come with quite an aroma to them, a cross between cheap smelling leather and a woody smell. These picks were not in the case themselves but in a neat little envelope that I nearly binned. --- BE CAREFUL!The case itself is of a nice build, and others have also commented on the fact that it's opening is not like the picture at all. It has a zip running round the outside from the top left corner to the bottom left. I prefer it myself compared to the one in the picture. It more resembles the sort of case your Grandma... or yourself would have for your glasses. My only annoyance with this case is the fact that on the inside there is only one small pocket which granted fits two picks with their sleeves attached and all the tension tools., but I would much preferred having two inner sleeves. This is because if I opened the case with too much ignorance all the picks would fall out. Although with the rubber sleeves on the picks, there wouldn't be an easy way of doing this without making it look like the case was made in a sweatshop in some place you've never heard of. I cannot fault the case in other way - It should be noted the case is not a hard case nor is it incredibly soft. I will be adding more tools as I progress I would imagine and this case should fit at least 6 more pick tools with rubber sleeves, A LOT more if you didn't have the rubber sleeves on.I cannot really say much for the picks themselves or the tension tools, because I haven't really used them, until my exams are over for the summer I won't be using them yet. I have to say though they seem strong enough and only with the purpose that you are trying to break them would they actually snap.It should be noted I'm in the UK, and supposedly this set should be more based for locks that are made in the USA, but I've poked around a few locks and they seem OK - I would however recommend purchasing another tension tool, the one I purchased was called "TW-22 SOuthOrd Euro Slimline Tension Tool" You can find this on Amazon and I decided to also purchase it because some locks I had put even the skinniest tension tool that was in the set did not fit.The difference between the normal tools and as you'll probably see, the 'Euro Slimline' tools is that the Euro tools are built for skinnier locks, that are commonly made in Europe. If this should be a problem, then I may buy another set and return mine, but only time will tell.....Dimensions for the case: 16cm from top to bottom, 5.5cm width (across), 2cm depth (thickness) (These are approx, the case has some 'give' to it and more items you put in will increase the depth and width)
