Really good use it for different jobs in the garden and cleaning car...

A 10m reel with a small "pico" diameter hose. The hose is in 2 sections (2m and 8m). The spray gun can be used in either "stop" connector - giving the option of 2 or 8m between the reel and tap - and vice versa with the spray gun. The hose diameter is indeed small - so water pressure is not brilliant. However, I found it adequate for watering our small front garden and for washing the car. The connectors accept any Hozelock (and compatible) accessories including a car washing brush. I have had no issues with leaks or connectors popping off. The whole thing is light, very compact and easy to store. It's ideal for a small garden but for anything larger where a good length spray is required, go for a reel with a normal size (1/2") hose. The kit is not particularly cheap however, I took advantage of the current Amazon interest free (£6.50pm for 5 months) offer. UPDATE - Surprisingly, I have found that the limiting factor for water flow is actually the supplied Hozelock spray gun! Fitting a Spear & Jackson spray head greatly improved spray strength. It's still not as good as a full-sized hose but, for my purposes, it's more than adequate.....

I bought this Hozelock Pico hose reel for the side return garden. It’s basically a very small plastic hose and it’s brilliant for my purposes. It feels a bit cheap and toy-like if I’m honest, but that’s also kind of the point. It’s light, it doesn’t tangle, and I’m not fighting with it every time I just want to water a few pots or rinse the patio. I didn’t think I’d care about a hose reel, but I do love it. Note the hose itself is smaller in diameter to a regular hose but it is not really noticeable in the flow.

About a thousand times better than the expandable disaster I'd bought previously. That thing needed a special fitting for the outdoor standard tap; it leaked/sprayed continuously, no matter what I did or how much teflon tape was used. The sprayer it came with did the same; I had to wear clothing I didn't mind getting drenched each time I needed it. The hose itself split and burst! It barely got used; maybe a dozen times? Not worth a quid, let alone the £20 or so paid. Went in a different direction this time. Intrigued by the compact reel. It is DIVINE. For our tiny garden, it's perfect. Not a single leak. Nicely reels, very lightweight, yet seems very well made/sturdy. The sprayer is fantastic! I just didn't realise I could actually love a garden hose. But when you've used a terrible example, it makes a proper one stand out. It genuinely makes me happy to use it. Great purchase; will never again use another brand whilst in the UK. Thank you, Hozelock, for making a clever, quality product.

1/5 is being kind. I wouldn't hesitate to give this hose 0/5 if it were at all possible. In a word: Horrible. I bought this hose after watching the promotional video. I expected an easy-to-use, straight forward, quality hose that could be tidied away easily after use. Instead, I got the opposite. I honestly don't know where to begin with this hose, but here's some particularly annoying features: #1 - It's impossible to unwind (see the pictures I've attached as proof) The retractable wheel mechanism is utterly useless. It doesn't allow you to walk and have it unroll naturally whilst you move around, nor can you unwind it properly with the wheel as it literally moves around without anything happening. You have to physically pull the hose out from the wheel with your hands, which defeats the purpose of it being there in the first place. You'll definitely get a good upper & lower arm workout from this. I almost ripped my outside tap from the wall walking around, expecting the wheel to give and release the hose. The wheel is absolute rubbish and causes a *lot* of bunching together of the hose inside the housing, which causes this problem in the first place as the hose gets stuck. In the end I just decided to leave it out as I couldn't be bothered wrestling with it any longer. #2 - It's very awkward to wind up and store away. You will only ever get the head to attach to the wheel housing, like you see in the pictures, if it is disconnected and fully wound up. We have it permanently attached to our outside tap over summer, and subsequently the head doesn't attach to the wheel housing because the cable isn't fully wound up. We just have to leave the hose head on the floor, which just looks untidy and not at all what was expected. > Overall, I would highly recommend that you stay away from this hose. If you're planning on buying it for an easy life and convenience then I'd prepare for the opposite. I'm not ashamed to admit that the promotional video won me over as well, so don't worry - lesson learnt with that one. What it says it does on the tin is completely different to the end product; It's fiddly, infuriating to use and probably a bit too expensive to begin with if I'm being honest. If your garden hose - of all things - leaves you feeling exhausted after using it then there is definitely something wrong. Stay away.

Versatile, Lightweight, easy to use. Good while it lasts though! The shorter hose section, that is "yellow" in colour, is of lower grade than the grey section of the hose. The yellow hose section will, and I do mean will, eventually deterioriate, and leak through the sides of the tubing. Its just a matter of time. This is not so great of a problem, if it could be easily repaired or replaced with another hose section, purchased separately, or even sold by hozelock. Unfortunately the yellow hose section is not a modular component, and can not be so easily repaired at a consumer level. There is a "metal" factory fitted permanent clamp which attaches one end of the yellow hose section to the reel unit. This needs to be twisted off using pliers with force, thus destroying the metal clamp entirely. One would need to buy an adjustable (Screw fit type) metal hose clamp of suitable diameter, in addition to a suitable spare section of hose. Homebase brand and some other brand standard diameter hoses will not fit as they are a bit too wide in diameter to cinch down securely. This will leak though, and waste water, which is not ideal. Hozelock have made this, effectvely a semi permanent connection, so that consumers can not simply "click-fit" another hose section to make whole reel re-useable again. Therefore this product does have a deliberate built in obsolescence. Most consumers would likely resort to disposing of the whole reel unit except for the spray gun, and then buying another entire reel unit which comes with another spray gun. There is a lot (maybe 90%+) of plastic material waste for the sake of a simple section of hose (approx 1 metre or so). Hozelock are not making this product environmentally friendly, when it comes to consumers being able to re-use or repair this product. After all, there is far less profit in selling a short section of replacement hose than selling an entire new reel unit.

Hozelock Ltd HZ24250000 Pico Reel, Yellow, 10m: I have a small garden full of veggies and needed a replacement hose for my old and trusty spring coiled hose,that perished, that could reach my entire garden without the chore of mauling the full size hose and reel around. After much research I purchased this 10m dinky little hose reel and so far I am very pleased with it. It is of all plastic construction but seems sturdy enough and I foresee many years of use if treated with respect. It does not have industrial build but then again it doesn’t have an industrial build price either. I have dropped it a few times without incident. The hose pipe is of a smaller diameter than standard but with my water pressure there are no flow issues and I get, depending on the spray setting selected, a powerful water flow. The hose reel is dinky and is ideal to carry around when watering, spooling and unspooling as you go. The spray nozzle has many useful spray patterns of which I use the gentle watering can like setting the most and it also has a adjuster for the flow rate as well as a lock to hold the trigger open. Thoughtful. It’s easy to wind up once finished but remember to move the hose ( still pressurised from side to side to ensure even spooling and no jamming. Then release the water pressure and both ends have clamps to attach them on the hose spool. Very thoughtful. This is one of my top 3 gardening gadgets
