This is a corded one. The wahl has cordless versions too, but the professional (or close to) hair clippers aregenerally corded for the higher output and reliability.

How do I get a spare blade for this clipper and how much does it cost?

I get mine off the Amazon site just look up clipper blade for wahl super taper they are £15.98 and easy to replace

Is this effective for afro hair?

This is the shears all good barbers use it is professional quality equipment it won't let you down. I have extremely tough hair not afro but if you see me you'd probably agree it is as heavy duty if not more. Every barber complained about my hair so I bought this and do my own hair cut.
