Perfect starter Drone. Good value for money!
Arrived really quickly and well packaged.Reduced from £199.90 to only £69.90 - bargain!I was surprised at how small the box was when the drone arrived but then I realised that it folds up neatly to store away compactly - such a good idea as this also protects the "wings" and blades. Easy to transport to different locations for flying. This links up to your phone via wifi and then you use your phone as the controller as well as screen to see what the drone can see. It takes a wee bit of getting used to but absolutely fine after a while. Or you can use the remote control that is provided. There is no "front" and "back" to this drone so there's no worries about keeping it flying a certain way - just work what's best for you. It's easily disturbed by wind so best to keep this for calm days! The camera on this was also surprising - in a good way. I wasn't expecting much for the money but it is actually fab. Great for YouTube videos (my son) and family updates on Facebook. My friend also bought one of these to track the progress of her new house as it's being built, which is a great idea! This is a super 1st drone and I would highly recommend it if you have never experienced or used one before. Great for kids and adults alike. made a mistake in buying this...
Flight 1: Broken propeller. Ok, spares in box, but for how long? Can't buy replacements in UKFlight 3: Rotor 2 stopped working. Will not revive. Waste of money.Buying this was a mistake. I had already bought two Tellos for my older children (11 and 10) and my 4 year old was playing with them well. So, I thought I would get one for her birthday, but considered a dedicated controller might be a plus. Whilst I don't think that was wrong, this drone was not the one to buy.It is not a complete beginner's drone. The Tello is brilliant - strong breeze (dare I say 'wind') it holds its position perfectly, responds well to controls, and has LOTS of spares available, cheaply and quickly. This thing, if you fart it will send it off course, takes time each flight to stabilise. During flight, the stabilisation seems to stop working, and unless you're in an open field, you will find it careening into objects. I have a very large garden, but it's not big enough for me to get sorted in time before a crash. I'm not an expert, but I'm not an idiot either. It's a shame, because I really want to like it. It folds small, quick recharge (though shortened flight time as result) and ok images (though nowhere as good as Tello). Cheaper than the older tello, and comes with dedicated controller rather than use a phone/pad too. But, bottom line, it's too flimsy, with too little after sales spares available in the UK, and is difficult to control at all, near impossible in even a slight breeze. I'm going to get my five year old girl a tello now. Hope amazon will take this back

Great for beginners, but don't expect to much from the camera!
After a few weeks of flying the TOZO Q1012 Skyhunter I thought I would leave a review here. I’m fairly new to quadcopters and have had some minis such as a Hubsan and I loved it so I thought it was time to get something a bit bigger.First off ease of use, this drone has a beautiful controller, it feels nice and solid and has a nice finish to it and it fits nicely in your hand much like a PS4 controller. The mount for the phone holder is robust, however, depending on where your volume or power button is on your phone, you might get constant button presses like I did with my Nexus 5X, this can be worked around by mounting the phone in the holder off center, but this isn’t ideal. Now onto the drone itself, the build quality is there and the arms stay folded out nicely and I haven’t had a moment where they have folded back in yet which was much to my surprise, I was fully expecting his thing to fold back in on itself so I’m really glad it didn’t. The battery compartment is fine but the twist pin to hold it shut could be stronger, maybe adding another one would put my mind at rest, I’m terrified of breaking this as parts seem impossible to find. The camera is a novelty so please don’t have high expectations for amazing footage or stills from this. The camera connects directly to your phone via wifi and an app which you can download and works fine, you get a nice little signal indicator on the transmitter which is a nice touch. The drone has 3 flight speeds which is nice, low, medium and fast, after flying with it for about half an hour I was mainly using the medium and fast speeds and it’s still very controllable. The acro mode is fun making it do flips and filming it gave me a good giggle for a while. Now this little thing does have a return to home function which is patchy at best, I used it at one point and it just went up…. And up…… and up……. I had to use the built in killswitch function out of fear and drop it out of the sky, she fell about 80-100ft into some soft overgrown grass which was lucky, and she survived! Upon re-launching it a prop just flew off. After some investigation I realised this was due to the shaft spinning inside the prop housing and not gripping nicely. I remedied this by adding some very tiny drops of super glue inside the housing which seems to of held - fingers crossed. The built in flashing LEDs reminding you to come back because of low battery is nice but they are not very bright, if your drone is far away it’s not really visible so be careful! The drone comes in with battery at 136g on my kitchen scales, which proves a problem in windy conditions, a small amount of constant breeze is enough to make flying this drone less desirable. However it holds altitude nicely when you get it up (not very fast at ascents or descents) and is really easy to maneuver. The auto take off and land feature is nice and works well, however the legs don’t hold it far off of the ground, so it’s easy to snag a prop into grass or something. I’ve been using the box to take off from in fields and it’s been fine. The drone at time of writing this is £79.90 here on amazon on sale and I think that is worth it. I’ve been having fun with it and it’s perfect for beginners, however at the full asking price of £200.00 it isn’t worth it, especially if you’re looking for nice footage I can’t recommend this. Also please bear in mind that parts seem impossible to find apart from spare props.
