Brainstorm Toys My Very Own Solar System Nightlight

This product has absolutely exceeded my expectations. The planets are extremely high quality, it is not a moulded shell, but a tight plastic covering that would not rip (unless you scratch at it). The assembly is easy and can be understood quickly if you read it properly. The sun is a dim and perfect for a night light or room decor. It has a good size and is also very light. I bought it because I wanted some room decor bit it would certainly teach the little ones about the overall structure of the Solar System. I haven't had it for too long so I don't know how long the battery lasts for. And the planets spin at different speeds as well, which was cool. However Saturn's rings don't quite fit, Jupiter's red spot is massive and the planet sizes are a bit wonky. Overall I think this set is extremely good for its price

Good fun for the kid's

After reading some of the other reviews about this product we were very sceptical about buying it. However, we are very pleased to be able to say that we think it is excellent. It is light weight and fairly fragile,but it needs to be this way in order to perform its function. By looking at the product shot we initially thought it was a room light which fitted over the room's light bulb. It is not. It runs off a battery and contains its own bulb. The motor which rotates the planets does make a noticeable sound but our son is not bothered by this as he does not fall asleep until he has finished watching the 15 min cycle. We have only had it up for 2weeks but it has worked smoothly each day since then. We were confused by the dimensions given as it is actually only 85cm in diameter. It is very easy to assemble (as long as you follow the instructions) and easy to fix to the ceiling, but does require you to make two holes in the ceiling. It looks very effective and we would recommend it to anyone interested in creating a space themed bedroom.

Really nice model, the rotation isn't that smooth though. The noise isn't as load as I though it would be after reading other reviews. Loses a star due to the occasionally jerky motion. 15/08/17 Update: Jerky motion got worse until the gears just started grinding, shortly after that it stopped working completely. Returned to Amazon for a refund, unfortunately it wasn't available at the same price so purchased another from John Lewis. No stars removed as the new one works fantastically well. First must have slipped through the quality control net.

Made my grandson very happy

These look good but they clash with each other when spinning. Not sure if it's on all of them or just a defect on some but I had to leave them still and only use it as a light.

Bought this for my Daughters room. Unfortunately the picture showing two children marvelling at the sheer brilliance of what its supposed to do, must infect be the shock of what it can't do. 1. The battery powered LED light hasn't the power to cut through the yellow plastic of the Sun. which unfortunately results in a pathetic glow, not enough to eliminate the smallest of rooms. 2. The design of the fitting docent allow for the existing wiring to be stored in the light housing which connects to the ceiling. which even with the best of intentions means the light won't fit properly to the ceiling, which results in the whole contraption not woking as its made from soft plastic and distorts. I'm not prepared to cut the wiring out of the ceiling for something which just isn't what it was advertised to be!

One of my 3 year old grandson’s Christmas present he absolutely loves it

Have bought so many things on Amazon and they have been great. Not this. Shocking quality for the price. Plastic garbage that wasn’t worth the $80 Paid.

In einem solchen Modell sind natürlich viele Vereinfachungen (Größen-, Entfernungs-, Geschwindigkeitsverhältnisse, Umlaufbahn, ...). Aber der eigentliche Zweck, der bei Kindern damit erreicht werden soll - nämlich Interesse, Faszination, Freude, Respekt - ist voll gegeben. Eine leuchtende Sonne, verschieden große und mit schön bedruckter Folie überzogene Planeten, die die Größenverhältnisse kindgerecht darstellen. Die Planeten rotieren mit 3 verschiedenen Geschwindigkeiten um die Sonne. Und das Licht und die Drehung sind per Fernbedienung ein- und ausschaltbar. Was will man mehr ...? Dass das Geräusch bei Drehung hörbar ist, stört nicht weiter - ist meiner Meinung nach besser wie wenn es flüsterleise wäre.

En termes visuels, l'article a dépassé mes attentes. Je pense que mon petit-fils l'appréciera beaucoup et j'espère que la qualité ne décevra pas et qu'il fonctionnera longtemps.
