Jay-Be Jubilee Folding Bed with Rebound e-Fibre Mattress, Compact, Single

I have already posted a review on this bed, as I purchased it almost a year ago, for my young grandson to use when he came to stay.It remains a very comfortable bed, with the added advantage of being really easy to fold up and store without taking up much room.However, I am writing this extra review, as I have been "blown away", by the fantastic after sales service.My adult son, accidentally broke 2 of the slats, that support the mattress. The information, that comes with the bed, does advise caution with heavy weight standing, or jumping on the slats, so I was expecting to have to pay for the replacements.I was amazed to hear a polite and friendly voice on the Jay-Be number, saying that the bed had a lifetime guarantee, and she would arrange for 3 new slats (one extra in case), to be sent out by courier within 2 days....free of charge. Considering this bed is already great value, well under 100 pounds, I have never before experienced such wonderful after sales care, and I felt moved to write this.

I was actually very pleased with this bed product. And the reason I had no problemwith feeling the wooden slats is because I bought a 3 inch thick mattress bed sponge.I specially transformed a clothes cupboard and turned it into a guest bedroom for afriend's first visit to London. And they said that the bed (with the extra layer of 3" spongewas very comfortable. Photos of the bed and the transformed small space attached alongwith an image of the bed folded away after it's use.

i bent over this bed to get something using my knee and leaned on the centre of the second slat and it broke. so this would agree with the reviewer who said don't let your children jump on it lol. i recommend that when leaning over to get something that you sit on the bed first and then lean on the edge or as it is so light you could just lift the bed out of your way first. so if you don't lean heavily on individual slats you'll be ok. i imagine that this is how grown-ups have broken slats. if this has happened to you a good idea is to change the headboard to the other end so that the broken slat wouldn't be noticed. i am a big lady and slept on this last night and it was very comfortable so a really good bargain. this takes up less space than a divan, doesn't squeak, is very easy to erect and it wheels along easily and quickly.EDIT: so two weeks later another slat broke while i was lying on the bed and it took the next slat with it. i found www.jaybe.com and registered my bed. it's good to know that you can get replacement slats free under guarantee. i believe they are only £3.99 for a set of 8 slats is you wanted to buy them. i discovered it is easy to remove the black plastic slots by pulling upward on them to replace slats. however, i feel i need to bolster the base by adding strong bias/elastic/mesh to feel secure again.

This product is quite well constructed and would be ok as a 'put u up' however it's one failing is the base slats. These have been manufactured from 6-8mm thick plywood and then had a curve induced into them (presumably in a steam chest) to provide 'spring' in my opinion as an engineer the choice of material section (thickness) is woefully inadequate. They may be ok to support the weight of a child providing they didn't jump up and down on the bed, but sadly lacking when it comes to an 18 stone adult, they break, as happened with mine. When it occurred to my friend we just had a good laugh about it but there are far more serious implications attached to this product inadequacies, someone could get hurt. I have now strengthened the slats on mine but on reflection would not consider buying this or any other product made by Jaybe in the future unless they address the inherent problems. In conclusion, NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

May I start by saying I have only used this folding bed for a few days so long term durability I don't know yet.what I will say is the frame seems good and strong with a good stable feeling. once your in it doesn't wobble or creek and I weigh just shy of 100kg.however the mattress is not my taste it is too thin and rock hard so I have had back and hip ache every morning.It may be worth budgeting for a different higher end model or a replacement mattress as I have just ordered a memory foam one to replace the jay-be mattress.But for the £56 I paid cannot complain it's worth it just for the frame alone.knocked 2 stars off for the mattress as it is uncomfortable and too short for the frame but I still think it's a good buy.

I have now slept for 3 nights on this bed and find I am sleeping better than on my normal softer one! There was an issue that after waiting at home all day for delivery, the Hermes website stated they were unable to deliver as there was no reply. However it came on the next working day, a Monday. It comes in thick cardboard packing and seemed heavy, however once the castors were on it glided about smoothly. There was some difficulty fitting the headboard as the holes for the bolts were not quite spaced correctly. A certain amount of persuasion was required. The mattress is slightly shorter than the bed length but has to be to enable it to fold up properly. Overall, good value and ideal for occasional use. Lifetime guarantee so have registered it on line.

El somier no es consistente.Se nos rompieron dos láminas de madera haciendo uso para dormir un niño de 24 kg de peso.El colchón es tiene poco espesor.Nos ha defraudado muchísimo.

La livraison s'est faite sous 7 jours dans un carton bien épais ce qui n'a pas endommagé le lit.Cet article est facile à monter puisque seules les roulettes et la tete de lit sont à visser.De plus la qualité de la structure a l'air super solide meme si le prix est élevé je le conseille vivement par rapport à d'autre beaucoup moins cher et de moindre qualité. Le matelas est moelleux meme si ce n'est pas du Dunlopillo.Pour conclure je vous conseille cet article comme l'a précedemment dit Mara.

Ich habe das Gästebett hier über Amazon gekauft. 2 Mal wurde der Liefertermin verschoben und nun ist es endlich da ....fast zu spät. Wir haben es ausgepackt und waren so mit der Qualität auf den 1.Blick zufrieden. Dann die Ernüchterung, nach dem "probeliegen"stellte wir fest, dass die Matratze sehr klein ist. In Maßen : Breite 75cm, Länge 175 cm. Das war schon sehr unangenehm, weil wir dachten sie ist 80x190cm. Die Qualität der Matratze ist so ganz ordentlich, seeehr leicht (komisches Material ??) und 10cm dick. Ich wiege 52 Kilo und bin 165 cm gross. Das Bett ist gerde so an der Schmerzgrenze, kleiner gehts echt nicht. Habe es offiziell retourniert , werde aber noch 2-3 Tage meditieren. Das Positive ist das Brett am Kopfende, welches mich persönlich noch abhalten könnte es zurück zu schicken.Aber ansonsten geht so ne Größe gar nicht. Aber wie gesagt: zum Glück bin ich klein und leicht und so wies aussieht werde nur ich das Teil benutzen. Alle anderen Käufer aufpassen !!Update: So hab eine Nacht drüber geschlafen und beschlossen... es geht zurück. Warum !? Es ist einfach zu klein um darauf vernünftig zu schlafen. Bei den heutigen Körpermaßen der Menschen ein Unding. Eigentlich schade....2.Update.... habe das Gästebett von Veraflex bekommen und muss sagen : DAS ist doch echt ein tolles Gästebett. Große Liegefläche und seeeeehr bequem. Ein Glück ich habe dieses hier zurück geschickt. Grosses Manko : Ich mußte vorab die Retoure bezahlen, über 35 Euro obwohl die Retour berechtigt war, wegen den dargestellten Mängeln. Amazon sollte die Maße darstellen, dann hätte ich es NICHT gekauft !
