Smashing stuff
Really good lawn feed. I have never used something like this before but last year I planted a new lawn and although established it really needed a good kick start to get it growing properly before summer. We had a very dry/hot spring this year in France so I waited a bit before using it as it wasn't growing and I was afraid the lawn may scorch. I chose my moment well - just after spreading it absolutely down poured for 48hours giving the ground some much needed moisture. Since then it has rained quite a bit which has all helped in the process.Scotts do say that this doesn't need watering in, but I'm a bit skeptical about that. It may be true, but they do say that it will need watering in if the lawn is lacking water and is stressed. They also say its a non scorch formula, which I can confirm as when starting with the spreader it dumped a whole load and it hasn't scorched at all.I did have one slight niggle though. I had a few bands in the lawn where the spreader passed and it didn't seem to do anything at all. It's taken time, but these bands in the lawn are slowly going greener but its been over 14 days now. It may also be down to my spreader (Gardner) and I think its probably worth investing in the Scotts spreader.Scotts say you see a difference after 3 days and its true, I did see something but nothing to write home about. After 5 days however it was as green as a cucumber, and growing faster, and denser. My son cut it on Friday evening and has had to cut it again today, just two days after!!!Overall I highly recommend it and I'll be looking into their other products. Get the Scotts spreader though and you wont be disappointed

Great product that works as expected, if not better.
Fantastic stuff. This is the first time we've used anything like this before as the grass was looking pretty sorry for itself. The grass is now a deep lush green. Unfortunately, I found applying it a bit of a hassle though, which is entirely my fault. Twice I knocked over the spreader, meaning a mound of the stuff was placed on the grass in certain areas. I tried to pick it up or brush it over a larger area, but unfortunately In these areas, the grass died, so spread carefully, probably better to under treat than over. The grass grows steadily as well, which means you won't be out there cutting it daily (unless thats your thing) it seems to just ensure the grass is lovely, thick, green and healthy without encouraging it to grow at a faster rate, which is perfect.I would happily recommend the product and already plan to buy some more to do the bits I missed/killed once re-seeded. I think I'll put less in the spreader this time, so that if I do knock it over (which is likely), less with be wasted.

The grass is greener
This was recommended to me by a friend whose lawn is in tip top condition so I gave it a try. I've used it twice now and I'm happy with the results. I used the Scotts lawn spreader which makes it incredibly easy to put down but the instructions are confusing as I've found two different spread rate settings. I'm using the smaller of the two so perhaps if I tried the higher one my grass would be even greener but I'm being cautious as its a new lawn. It is green and looks great but there are some lighter patches which I hoped the Lawn Builder might get rid of. However, it's early days yet and I might be expecting too much anyway.

Lawn builder magic
I purchased this lawn builder in spring after all the positive reviews it had . I also purchased a lawn spreader which I would recommend so as to distribute the feed evenly on the lawn . I treated the lawn straight away and in all fairness didn't see any change in Colour or growth in the first week , but in the weeks to follow the grass went really lush and really green , after about 8'weeks I decided to treat the lawn again and to be truthful my lawn has never looked so good , it's got really good growth it just looks like a really thick carpet of green , I would say be careful of over spill when using a spreader as I had a patch where the spreader decided to dump quite a lot in one small area which killed the grass . In summary this product is quite expensive but does a brilliant job on your lawn , just give it time to work . This is probably one of the best feeds out there ,I will defiantly be ordering some more in the future .

A no-brainer product for ensuring a healthy looking, attractive lawn!
This is a very effective lawn feed which has transformed my lawn, from a dull green colour to a very healthy lush, dark green colour. This stuff is the real deal, nevertheless it is slightly expensive considering the size of my garden, an 8kg bag is only enough to feed my back garden.Even with the correct spreader settings which are quoted on this pack, I failed to get anywhere near the quoted figure of 400sqm (no wonder they say "covers up to 400sqm"). I would suggest you buy more lawn feed than what is quoted by "Scotts", to make sure an even coverage is possible. If anything, you can always save it for the next time.Do bear in mind this is not the correct lawn feed for autumn, use the autumn lawn feed for that if you want to ensure your lawn is ready for the upcoming colder months and British winter. In summary, I have no hesitation in recommending this product as an effective lawn feed, which undoubtedly works well when used correctly. If you found my review helpful, please click the "Yes" button to state this so I know its been a help to someone. Thank you!

Overall Disappointed
6 months ago I had a new lawn laid and now required a good fertiliser. Scotts Lawn Builder came highly recommended by sources on the internet and the reviewers here. I applied the fertiliser by hand but was cautious not to apply too much as some reviewers have experienced scorching. Maybe I was overcautious in my application but during a 3 week period I have not experienced the "greened up" effect as others have. I have used Evergreen in the past and in all honesty, at this moment in time, there is no visible difference between the two. The only notable effect I have noticed is the growth spurt in the grass. I will persevere with Scotts and possibly buy the spreader but overall I'm disappointed.
