This is one of the best flours for all baking and cooking***
This is one of the best flours to use for baking and cooking, I have many various flours that are gluten free in my larder/pantry for baking and cooking - This is one of my favourites- Highly Recommend****

Best I’ve tried
This flour makes amazing pastry, pancakes, cakes and crumbles. I’m super fussy and while it doesn’t taste identical to wheat flour, I’ve never noticed an unpleasant odour or flavour. I also use it to thicken sauces but find you need far less than you would if using wheat flour or can go a bit gloopy. I often mix it with some form of oats or oat flour in crumbles and with ground almonds in cakes.

Good for breads, bad for desserts!
This is an excellent flour for making breads and flatbreads or for thickening etc but it’s not great for sweet applications. I tried making oatmeal cookies with and could really taste the chickpea floor. Dense like bean flours are better suited to savoury applications and breads. The 1:1 baking flour is better for cookies and cakes etc as it’s a lighter rice based flour mix.

Bread lasts for 4 days
With a couple of personal little tweaks to the recipe, (only 1 large egg and 2 large egg whites) I get a bread machine loaf that gives a nice crust, lasts for 3-4 days and even then is great for toast. Has become my 'go to' flour.

what am I doing wrong?
This flour is horrid. It has a vile smell and a disgusting after-taste that I cannot disguise in any food, no matter how hard I try. I bought it as I'm currently gluten, wheat, soy and corn free for autoimmune issues, and most flours use corn, but I can't use this at all. It tastes very strongly of gram flour (from the chick peas/garbanzo) and it simply makes everything taste really strange. I've tried it in biscuits, cakes and pastry and the result in the same. Considering the price I'm a little upset as I hate wasting anything, but there is nothing I can imagine this would taste nice in! Reading the other reviews, I'm worried I'm doing something wrong, but I can't imagine what. I had to give up yesterday and instead of using this to satisfy a sudden urge to bake, I made my own flour from coconut flour, almond flour and sorghum flour (plus xantham gum, baking powder and arrowroot). It worked really well as a cake but too moist for biscuits or pastry.Disappointed and trying to think of a use for something that tastes strongly like chickpeas!

The best of what's around
The best pre-blended gluten free flour on the market. We would rather make our own from scratch, but if we don't have the time or don't feel inclined for any reason, this flour blend is our go-to. Everything we've made using it has been delicious!
