Working well

The appears to be well built, it is easy and quick to operate. The intruction booklet is not very easy to follow but fortunately, this is okay since the machine itself is pretty straightforward to operate.Vacuum and seal a bag is a single button press and takes about 20 seconds or so. Can also just seal a bag, without vacuuming. It also comes with an attachment to allow foodsafe containers to be vacuum sealed also. One such container is provided in the box.Mine arrived, however, fitted with a European plug on a captive mains lead, which technically is illegal under the UK's Plugs and Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.Since the mains lead is captive (i.e. hard wired into the device) the cord must be cut and a UK plug and 3 Amp fuse fitted.Update:I ordered another one of these (for my mother) from this seller (Jarden Consumer Solutions) and after waiting for nearly two weeks, it was still showing as awaiting dispatch. I chased this up through Amazon who said someone would get back to me. A few days later I found the seller had just cancelled the order, without any explanation or email to me. They were gracious enough to offer me a replacement for only £120 more I had agreed in the first place! I had already bought and received accessories for this machine but no machine itself - so feel somewhat blackmailed! Definiately not happy with this seller!Update 2:I have discovered that the machine I bought is faulty, although it vacuum packs bags, the accessory port does not work and so will not vacuum seal containers. I spoke to Foodsaver who have confirmed this is an internal fault and offered to replace it via Amazon, in line with the two year guarantee. I spoke to Amazon, who stated that they have no means of sending me a warranty replacement! If I want a working one, I need to return this one, claim a refund and then buy another one at a significantly higher price (since the prices have increased since I bought it).I am very unhappy that Amazon do not think that they have to honour the warranty for the goods they sell (and make a profit from). I have also respoken to the manufacturer and they say that they do not have any replacement units in stock since this model is now discontinued..so Amazon have the only stock available!
