This disc weighs less than a handful of feathers. Very easy to install. This SSD is the most cost effective upgrade that I have done. The change in computer performance is staggering, everything is now working much faster on my eight year old self build PC. I didn't use any of the utilities for imaging the disc, so can't comment. 24/10/2019 - Purchased a 1TB SanDisk Plus for my very slow laptop. The positives first. Once fitted to my laptop it is now superfast, no need to be thinking about a new laptop. The Acronis WD free software cloned my original hard drive with no issues, it took about 1.5 hours to clone my drive with the new SSD disk connected via one of the laptop USB ports. The negatives - Support from SanDisk is not very good, contacted them a few times with various things to try when the SanDisk dashboard and the Acronis WD software wouldn't detect the SanDisk SSD drive when connected to any of my USB ports. After a bit of experimenting with different USB to SATA cables/cradles I finally managed to get the dashboard and Acronis to detect the SSD drive. Having read feedback from several Amazon customers and also on-line forums about the issues with using Acronis WD cloning software I'm really disappointed and surprised that the manufacturer hasn't addressed these issues. Anyway, once installed, well just wow describes my laptop performance boot up and shutdown times are amazing, all the Microsoft office software that once took ten's of seconds to open now opens in a blink.

480GB Version (£65.02) Product bought 16 Jan Writing date 3 July I had a hard drive in my PC for a long time and decided it was time to upgrade. Searching for an SSD brought me to this one which has a good capacity for the price. Once I installed it, I fresh installed windows onto my SSD but that was because I wanted a fresh start for my PC. I'm honestly not sure if there is an easier way to transfer from the hard drive to the SSD (there probably is) but that is the method I chose. Installation is easy but make sure to choose the right drive (i.e. if you have a 1tb hard drive and a 480gb ssd, choose the drive which has the 480gb capacity). Using the SSD on a day to day basis has been an enjoyable experience especially after having a hard disk drive. It may not be the fastest SSD, but it does the job. Loading time for windows and for games have significantly lowered (make sure to actually install the game onto the SSD and not just steam for example otherwise the loading times will stay the same). All in all, it has been one of my best purchases. No problem with delivery and product was easy to use. [Any questions, message me. Happy to help :)]

I ordered the 480GB SSD PLUS version for £84.99. The build quality is nice, even though the SSD feels a bit too light and flimsy - still not too cheap. It has 4 mounting holes on the bottom but it does not come with any mounting brackets or screws so you might have to get extra ones if you need to mount it. For me a major drawback is the fact that SanDisk's logo is actually a part of the casing - so you cannot remove it (could be quite important for people doing PC builds with a side window panel. Performance wise - I was able to achieve 319.8MB/s Read Speeds and 248.2 MB/s of Write speeds. I expected it would have been faster since it had an advertised speed of 535MB/s, but it's still a really good performance for budget SSD drive. To summarise - if you are on the market for a cheap, relatively fast SSD, and you do not care how it looks - this one is a perfect choice.

Trying to keep this simple so don't hate me. If you're moving over from a HDD (normal hard drive) to an SSD you may think this is overpriced for the storage space. But you'd be wrong. Due to an SSD having no moving parts, If for instance you installed your operating system (windows) on this thing it would dramatically decrease your boot up times and basically speed up every process that your computer does. If you install games on one of these it will decrease load time by a lot ! I've had a few of these things in my PC for 4 years and not one has died yet, and I edit and render through gb of video footage everday. Yeah there are even faster ones out there but for the price this is a solid buy. Real world scenario - If I'm playing multiplayer with friends who have a HDD and we load a game at the same time, I'm already picking up loot while they are still staring at the load icon. PC Specs | I7-4790 32GB DDR 3 RAM GTX 1080 Windows 10 pro installed on one of these hard drives :) Summary - Awesome and easy to install. Tiny so it'll squeeze in anywhere. Smaller than a mobile phone

SSD's are the future. This is the second I've bought for my devices and im hooked. This one is currently in my Macbook pro 2012, and I have seen significant improvements - boot time being 14/13 seconds and instant response to anything thrown at it. My Home PC was a 750 gb ssd that I have owned over a year and no problems. Pros of using this SSD: -way better than any HD, even if you receive less storage space, it is definitely worth for the speed. -REALLY LIGHT this will reduce the weight of any laptop - made of plastic and as light as paper on its own. -Lasts longer than a mechanical hard drive as there no moving parts and doesnt need defragmenting ever for windows -as the life of most consumer ssd's have a longer life, I seem to see less corruption errors, though this is subjective of course.

I bought this to replace the hard disk on my aging laptop (an HP Elitbook 8460p). As usual with Amazon Prime it arrive the next day, in a small package that could be posted through the letter box. I already had a USB interface kit for HDD drives, plugged it in, and used Mini Tool Partition Wizard (free on web) to clone my HDD to the Sandisk. That took several hours, so I let it run overnight. The next morning, using instructions from YouTube, I opened the laptop and replaced the HDD with the SanDisk SSD. It was an exact fit to the connectors and HDD carrier, if anything a better fit than the original (not so tight), and noticeably very light. I closed everything up, turned on the laptop, and wham, up came the system in a couple of seconds, not the minutes or so I was used to previously. I played around opening apps etc, which seemed almost instant. A brilliant makeover for an old machine, will get one for my desktop next. Fantastic piece of kit, highly recommmended!
