Cheap Plastic Jug quality
We've ordered this blender back in November 2017 and haven't been using much all. The versatility is quite impressive, that's to be said, but quality of the plastic used for the jug, is a whole different story line. After using it on a few occasions, the plastic at the bottom got a crack and started leaking, so I contacted customer services from Von Shef directly, as it was within the warranty period, and they offered to replace the entire blender set, as they don't have spare parts, because all we needed was a spare jug. Anyway, so we've received the replacement in November 2019 and after that have been using it a bit more frequently than the usual for smoothies, then this year 2022, haven't used it much at all, barely never, so the other week I wanted to blend chopped tomatoes into a sauce and the jug started leaking again :-( at the bottom, as per usual, please find pictures attached. I went back to the customer service department from Von Shef and as the warranty has now expired they can't send any replacement and they still don't offer the spare part option, which that part is the most annoying one, at this stage I don't paying a little extra money for a spare fitting jug, but that won't be a possibility, so now the blender set will be unusable for us. I wouldn't buy from them after this, that's for sure.

Easy to use and works brilliantly.
My trusty food processor of 35 years finally died last year. I replaced it with a very good normal mixer but in my heart of hearts it didn’t quite match up to my old unit. I’ve been searching a while now for a processor with a metal blade when I came across this one. When it arrived I just felt it was going to perform like my old one as it looked the same . The only way to test it out was to have a cooking day. I made cakes, biscuits and pastry and prepared chopped veggies and minced some cold lamb. This dealt with it all. It’s a powerful unit and I never needed to go above the first setting. The metal blade was fab but it also comes with a plastic dough blade and numerous cutters and graters and a spatula. It’s really easy to use with a good instruction book. The little rubber feet adhere well so despite the unit vibrating it doesn’t move. It’s not overly quiet but was as noisy as I expected it to be. I haven’t used the liquidiser yet but it looks very straight forward and nice and strurdy. You are warned to only use the pulse button for 30 seconds maximum and then rest the processor to allow the temperature to drop. This is quite normal but something to be careful about. I only needed to pulse it for a few seconds and on number 1 it mixed the fat into flour to make pastry in about 15 seconds. One of the really nice things is the utensils drawer on the main unit which keeps all the things you need easily accessible. I store mine in a cupboard and as it’s fairly tall I have to separate the bowl from the main unit but this doesn’t cause me a problem other than taking up more room. The main downside of all processors is they are all fiddly to wash and dry. This is no exception but I’m kind of used to it so can’t down mark it for that. All in all I’m absolutely thrilled with this processor and I hope to get years of use from it.

Terrible Customer Service & Awful blender
The media could not be loaded. I bought the 1000W food processor to have the more powerful motor particularly for making smoothies. The food processor seems ok and I made coleslaw and hummus and stuff with it - it's kind of cheap and plasticky but it works fine so it's good enough for the price. The blender though is just useless. The first time we used it (tried to use it) to make a smoothie with exactly the kind of ingredients show in the seller's illustration: some ice, some fruit, some mint, some banana and a bit of soy milk - the blender made a horrendous jet-engine type noise, nothing blended and the jug started leaking. Checking afterwards there was cream coloured plastic dust/bits on top of the drive and it looks like the cheap screw which holds the even cheaper plastic drive on the bottom of the blender has rounded out so the drive doesn't work. I'm not sure but that's what it seems like - one thing is for sure the blender didn't blend. So, not the end of the world, I'll just phone up to return it as unsatisfactory and not fit for purpose. I thought I'd pay a bit more and order a better quality one. The seller (DOMU) agrees to refund me and says they will send me a returns label etc. This doesn't arrive, so I contact them and give my direct email address and this time I get the label. They want me to pack up the processor and stuff and deliver it to a shop a fair bit away which is a pain for something this heavy but I'm okay with doing it. However I don't have the original box and the food processor and parts are awkward and heavy so I email them back and ask them to either send me a box and packaging or refund me if I go out and buy a box and bubblewrap etc. They write back saying they don't provide packaging and I should trek round stores to get old boxes and stuff and to make sure to package it well: "In situations such as this we do suggest visiting a local convenience store such as Tesco, Asda or Aldi to pick up some packaging for return. More often than not, shops are happy for customers to take free cardboard. You may use any kind of packaging as long as the item is secured and not loosen. The carriers do need suitable packaging for the return to comply with health and safety. The return will not go ahead if there is insufficient packaging."You know what? This is annoying!! I'm only returning this to them because it doesn't do what they said it would and I'm getting annoyed. I've written back and pointed out the realities of The Consumer Rights Act 2015 (Section 20(8) "Whether or not the consumer has a duty to return the rejected goods, the trader must bear any reasonable costs of returning them, other than any costs incurred by the consumer in returning the goods in person to the place where the consumer took physical possession of them.") and told them to come and get their food processor/blender.This will probably all end up in court. I'll update this review when we get any further.
