I'm happy with the purchase as it met my basic requirements ...
I bought this FP to replace a Kenwood FP555 I've had for many years. I'm happy with the purchase as it met my basic requirements however I have no doubt that the FP555 was better. The capacity of this FP is smaller but as that means that larger recipes are broken down more it's hardly a deal breaking issue. I rarely use the grater/ slicer tool so that's for someone else to comment about. I like the whisk, it's very different from the intermeshing rotating cages I've been used to but it's very efficient with the drawback that it takes a while to scrape all the residue off the tool - however it does the job well. As mentioned it's smaller, takes up less room and, hooray, has a means to wrap up and park the wire/ plug. Four out of five because the FP555 was better and so (take note Kenwood), Kenwood could have done better.

I automatically chose what I thought was a like for like replacement
I've always had a Kenwood processor so when the previous one, which was a real workhorse, eventually collapsed in exhaustion, I automatically chose what I thought was a like for like replacement. And it is except that it's slightly small than the previous one so sometimes I have to make things in batches. Everything works perfectly and it's easy to clean. I haven't given 5 stars as to make it work you have to keep your hand on the mixing bowl handle or it slides out of the slot and stops. So if you have the jug blender on I find I haven't enough hands free to pour liquids in to it whilst processing without the machine turning off! Would I recommend despite this inconvenience? Yes.

Worked great when it worked, dead after 2 years
I bought this in August 2019; works great when it works, used it once or twice every week for soups, veg, meta etc. Nothing serious like ice, but after a year the plastic spindle on the blender broke and I replaced it with a new one including a new blade, but now the motor seems to have died with no warning so in the bin it's going. Shame as it worked great but it's obviously pretty fragile and the Kenwood quality of a generation ago is long gone.

Bitter sweet
This food processor is beautiful, the shredder on the side has lots of useful changers. I'm giving it a 3 because the blender isn't great at all. the blades aren't sharp or wide enough so except your only blending cooked food to make soups it's near useless. Most times I use the chopper to break down the good before blending.Another major problem is the blend won't work without the chopper fully set up and cover ketd into the base of the blender which is not a big deal right?? until you start blending and every slight vibration pushes the chopper cover out of the base and the blender stops of course. So realistically while blending you have to hold the system together so it doesn't come apart.I still love it, it looks beautiful in my kitchen and chopper is an absolute game changer for me.Hope this helps

Kenwood saves the day
Emergency purchase to replace my mothers 30 year old processor which I accidentally broke pre-Christmas preparation. Itβs slightly smaller capacity than her last one but for a couple in their 80s it will suffice.

Smaller capacity but excellent
This food processor is excellent and, although smaller than my previous processor, it is very useful. If I need a large quantity of anything, I just process it in 2 batches. East to clean and store. Much cheaper than most quality processors. Ive always been satisfied with the many Kenwood products that I have and this complement their Kmix.

Be careful no cover for the main blade
I think there is a safety issue they should make a plastic cover for the safety of the blade that sits in the middle of the machine. So far it is working but itβs quite small and compact

Kenwood FP196 600W Food Processor in Chrome with liquidiser
This processor is fine for making smoothies and everything else that you need to grind. I had a issue with the first blender i was sent it failed to work after 2-5 mins, but the seller was easy to get hold of and straight sent a replacement which works fie for now, hence the 4 stars.
