Orange wood...
Had to send this back as although it sounded ok the wood looked cheap and shiny. I have bought this chime before (though not from Amazon) and it was gorgeous. A big difference.

This beautiful product surpassed all of my expectations! It arrived very quickly, was beautifully packaged in a nice gift box with a small pamphlet inside. The company who makes these products does a superior job with their craftsmanship. The chime sounds beautiful, and will last for years to come. I can see that it will be a very relaxing part of our lives. My son, who I gave it to as a gift, loves it. He finds it very relaxing.
