This is awesome! It's heavy, wellmade, durable. Comes in a nice box with a base, USB cord, cards, cleaning cloth and magnifying glass. The base lights up and makes all the elements glow. I got the largest size and was able to read the tiny print just fine. Got this to save for Xmas for an 18 year old. He will love it! Also bought early in case prices go up this holiday season. Great value and excellent gift! Love it!

My daughter is in the academic professional area and loves chemistry. She excelled in it while in college. I sent her this for Mother's Day and, of course, being my daughter, she opened it upon delivery! She LOVES it! It came wrapped and well protected so no damage. Comes with a wooden stand that has a button on it with an electric cord that lights it up. Even without the cords\light it is very visible to see. It is definitely unique with showing of all the elements. A fantastic gift for students, teachers and anyone interested in chemistry. Got this as a gift for my neice. She is an 8th grade science teacher. She loves it and so do her students. She thinks its cool that you can charge it so that it lights up. Im old, i hate that part. Im so sick of USBs and charging everything but its not mine so that doesnt matter. Ive been looking at these for 5yrs. This is the BEST one. Very clear, lights up, has a stand, comes with cleaning cloth and you can clearly see each element inside! Perfect size too

This lucite collection of element samples is really small. You will need a magnifying glass to read the print and the specimens are like a grain of rice in size. The lighted base is a good idea but our plastic sample piece did not fit in the groove. Either the wooden part was not milled correctly or the cast block was uneven in shape. I had to take it in my shop and use a dremel with grinding stone to slightly widen the grove in the wooden base so it would fit. My 10 yo grandson liked it and uses it as a nightlight by his bed. The educational value would have been enhanced if the printing and samples were larger. I hope if you buy one it doesn't need the groove enlarged like my item did.

First off, note that I came from chemistry working as an engineering semiconductors but that said, this is one of the most stunning desk-top science pieces of art I've ever seen. And I mean this company did an excellent job of construction, readability, and just plain making it fun. Even the LED lighting enhances the experience. There is not one single thing I'd change on it! My boy was very excited when he got it. He thank us like three times in a row. The item is small and the writing very tinny, but he has perfect vision and was able to see it held it in very close. I think that the holder base is a great addition and it keeps it steady. I have a happy boy today and that is exactly what I wanted to see when I thought on buying this present. It also have cardstock periodic table that is easier to read.
