Great machine use thick needles to avoid problems
Bought this sewing machine to fix the lengths of my curtains. It works very nicely and I was able to use it also for adjusting other items of clothing. I really love using it and wish I had one just like when I was growing up! It is compact, easy to store and comes with a kit of threads and spools. Changing the top bobbin is simple and there is a diagram of the machine itself. Changing the (spool under the needle) is tricky but you probably don't need to do that very often. More instructions are needed for the general use of the machine for complete beginners. Please be aware that the second set of needles, the set of extra 5 is rubbish and causes the machine to malfunction. This is very frustrating, but everything goes back to normal if you use the thicker better made needle. Enjoy!!

I like this little machine
I like this little machine. I already have a full sized machine plus an overlocker. I bought the Sew Lite for those little jobs that come up when I'm in the middle of a bigger project and don't want to change thread/needles/settings on my main machine. I've used the Sew Lite for 2 simple repair jobs so far, and it's worked well. I dropped one star for two reasons: The instruction booklet isn't detailed enough. I think the instructions on how to thread up, particularly the bobbin, would be insufficient for less experiences sewers. In case it's helpful to anyone, I threaded it up as follows:Place the bobbin in compartment such that the thread is going clockwise, drop the presser foot. Pass the bobbin thread tail through the thread guide (slot) on the presser foot, as far as it will go. (I think this must be what the instructions are referring to by the "thread gap"). Turn the handwheel towards you by hand, and the thread tail will, with luck, come up through the middle of the feed dogs. Then, you're good to go. It would have been nice if the instructions included guidance on choosing other feet, e.g. a zip foot. I don't know if any other feet are compatible with this machine. The snap on type certainly aren't. I'll try a universal zip foot that screws onto the shank at some stage, to see if that works. The kit that came with it is lovely, and I was also pleased with the carry bag. It's a decent little bag. Only tiny gripe is that the threads on the spools and bobbins aren't all in matching colours. Some are, some aren't.I have some 32m reels of Korbond thread, bought in packs from the supermarket, that look as though they should fit this machine. They look almost identical to the ones supplied with it, so shouldn't be any problems sourcing new threads. This machine is very slow compared to my main machine, but that's a definite advantage at times, e.g. if doing curved seams. I like the way I can let it chug along without even having to press the foot, if I just use the start switch.I could certainly see myself doing bigger jobs than I imagined on this lovely little machine. It's a capable little thing. I like it's cuteness, too! It's so lightweight, I'd take it anywhere. It worked fine on batteries or mains

Lovely looking machine but watch out for its flaws!
I ordered this machine after reading the reviews and thought as I was new to sewing (last tried at school) it would be the best one for me at this moment in time. Delivery was very quick, within a couple of days and very light to carry, which was good for me as I am disabled.I decided to leave writing a review on how good this machine works because I really wanted to give it a good use and see just how well it performed under pressure.Whilst it was easy to thread the machine and it did initially come fully threaded. I found the cotton reels that came with the machine useless, with a lot of the reels it was difficult to find a start off thread point and then when I eventually found it, it had been bound too tight to release. The cotton was continuously snapping. I initially thought this was down to the tension so altered it, however the thread would still snap and I was rethreading the machine every few minutes, which I found very frustrating as I was making up a batch of Pet Pillows for Charity on fleece material which issoft and had orders to get out. I also had I needle bend and one completely snap. I found the machine difficult to take standard sized cotton reels so you have to use the ones that come with the machine, which was a pain when the thread ran out. I had to rethread the reel by placing it on the same point you would place the bobbin to rethread it, and holding the bigger reel in my left hand, feeding the thread through my fingers which was not ideal but worked. The good points about the machine is it looks good, very light, great stitching when it does sew, easy to thread, lights up by the foot, also sews without using the foot pedal, comes with lots of accessories and fully threaded cottons and bobbins in different colours, easy to understand manual and a good price! (shown my batch of pet bed pillows made with this machine)

compact sewing machine with 16 coloured thread spools, 16 coloured bobbins.
What a brillant little machine, I'm really, really pleased with it, it arrived very quickly after ordering. Its sturdy and it stitches lovely, the tension is perfect, would highly recommened it. Have been struggling with curtain hems and making curtains, this machine stitched, the hem of a curtain in minutes, There is so much more I can do with the sewing machine., Being so cheap I was worried it wouldn't be much good, but hey its really great. the instructions are easy to follow. If you are in doubt about buying the machine, go ahead andf buy it you won't be dissapionted. Top marks.

Massive Let Down!
Not impressed with this sewing machine at all, was a Christmas present for my daughter from my mum and we've had nothing but trouble with it from the start. needle wonky and never stitched properly, thread always breaking, just a general let down! My mum and daughter were so excited to start my daughter's sewing journey and she's been very disappointed

sees well but lightweight and flimsy
This is a cute and very lightweight machine and sews well. However, the plastic casing is rather femmer and the socket for the power supply broke off and is now stuck inside the machine. Maybe not for a child's machine but not very durable. Also the foot pedal is really light and thin plastic, really difficult to keep underfoot but it was still easy enough to vary the speed.
