Great budget mic
Amazing sound quality for the price. Really did not expect the clarity I got with this mic. Even if you use a desktop computer I would recommend getting a power supply with this. It will improve the sounds quality quite a bit. This is my first experience with a condenser microphone and I got confused when I couldn't hear anything from it until I turned it around. These will only pick up sound from one side so make sure the logo is facing towards you when you mount it. Also it's a good idea to keep cables from this microphone separate from all your other io. I found it helps with static noise.

If you're not using it to record singers, it's worth every penny.
I do a radio show and needed another mic for use by guests that come on.I was going to use one of my cardioid mics, but condensers look better and sound better.I saw this for £16.99 delivered with a shockmount. I figured it looked the part and if it was piece of junk, it would still be good enough for the odd guest in the studio, I can tweak eq etc on my mixer. This was a real surprise. When it turned up, I was please to note it was of all metal construction. I was very pleased with the all metal shockmount...I've paid £15 for shockmounts worse than this in the past.I tried it out in place of my regular condenser...and it sounded just as good, with the added benefit of it being smaller.Sure, if I was recording vocals for a song in a studio, then perhaps I wouldn't use this...but that could be just a perception thing as this really sounds as good as my other 2 condensers with me talking in to it, which cost many times more.If you're looking for a condenser mic for recording spoken word, podcasts, radio etc providing you can give it a +48v phantom power source, I think for £16.99 shipped it is phenomenal value.I can't talk about it's longevity, as I haven't had it long, but it has now taken the place of my other, more expensive, mic for doing my radio show.Highly recommended!

Excellent value for money
Excellent microphones for the price. Comes in a well made printed box, with all the shock mounts and wind muff well wrapped. It comes with an XLR to 3.5mm jack cable which has the standard TRS configuration, so in theory works with any device that provides power for a condenser microphone. If you want to plug this microphone directly into a PC mic port it won't work unless you boost the recording levels under the setting, but this induces noise. If you want to use a mice with a PC look at dynamic or USB microphones. These work really well though an Alto ZMX122FX mixer via a 3rd party XLR cable. I use two of them for pod casts and video work

Condenser Mic at an affordable price
This microphone is excellent value for money when you consider the prices for some condenser mics on the market that can cost hundreds if not thousands which is crazy money but this mic holds its own. When you use it with the xenyx 302 usb mixer the sound is incredible but you do need to have a mixer or some sort of phantom power. It comes with the shock mount which makes things a lot more comfortable for recording as it helps dull the noise of accidental knocks and placing coffee mugs on the desk, but I would recommend using an XLR cable as the one supplied is not exactly suitable as it does not have the male connections just a standard jack. I use this mic for my podcast and I always use Audacity for the recording and this condenser mic really gives a clear crisp sound, the only set back is that the mic is so sensitive it can pick pick surrounding noise such as traffic passing by, but it can easily be edited out of the recording with the software such as the aforementioned Audacity or Garage Band. Overall I am very happy with this mic and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great sound at a great price, but you do need a phantom power source and I highly recommend the Xenyx 302 USB mixer

Excellent microphone and excellent service.
When I received this microphone it turned out to be faulty and I could get no sound from it. I contacted the seller who apologised and told me that they had already posted a replacement without me even having to organise a return. The new microphone arrived the next day and works perfectly. I am no expert but the sound quality seems excellent. I have it plugged into an M-Audio 2x2 with 48V Phantom Power (this required buying an extra XLR to XLR lead) which works extremely well, but it also worked alright through the normal microphone socket on my desktop PC, once the recording volume had been turned up some way. I have only used it properly through the 2x2 and the sound quality seems crystal clear. It is way above the quality that I am used to from normal microphones. This, and the impressive service, lead me to wholeheartedly recommend this microphone to any potential buyer.

Nice cheap condenser mic but requires phantom power normally
Super cheap condenser mic which I made to sound exactly like my Rode NT1A within Cubase (desktop recording app). Not sure if the supplied cable will work as described in the item's description but normally you would need an XLR cable along with a usb interface (sometimes called a sound card). The mic requires power in the form of phantom power which the interface (such as the Focusrite Scarlett range) supplies. These condenser mics do not just work without phantom power normally.

A very good sounding microphone at a good price
My son has tried several microphones to help him with his YouTube reviews and this is the best so far. It has a good 'feel' and the mount although a little 'plasticky' works well. The foam shroud it comes with also works OK.We paired this with the Alesis MultiMix 4 USB FX as a pre-amp with feed to the PC via USB. We also bought a male/female XLR cable to replace the XLR/phono lead that it comes with. This was to give it the phantom power that most condenser microphones seem to need. We did try the XLR/Phono lead first and switching leads as above meant a much cleaner and more powerful result. We could turn the gain down from about 80% to 25%, the channel output from 100% to 50% and the master output from 80% to 30% and still end up with a very good feed.I would recommend going with a phantom power feed for this (seems to work well with the Alesis) but on its own it is well worth what we paid given it's output.
