Supports heavy tall books. Work really well. I was sceptical it would would work as well they did. Bought another load.

I ordered three sets of these book ends for a side cabinet with open compartments that I use to store books.The book ends arrived in what was basically an oddly shaped jiffy bag, but it was perfectly adequate protection with no tearing or damage on the items themselves.The book ends themselves are just the right size and feel very sturdy once in use. Given the black colour they blend in with my furniture very well too.There isn't a huge amount to say as everyone knows how these function, but they're a very simple, very effective solution, are very well priced, and with free shipping you can't go wrong.

After recently buying 3 pairs of these bookends, I was so pleased with them that I soon purchased 3 more. They are an excellent and unobtrusive way to restore order and tidiness to chaotic bookshelves - eg. no more irritating collapse of surrounding books whenever I take out the dictionary, no more piles of books on their sides to act as makeshift 'bookends'... Other reviews suggest that they are also sturdy enough to support books free-standing, eg. on a desk. These bookends are good quality, with a nice satin finish, plus very thin but effective 'non-slip' pads underneath. (As stated elsewhere, the bookends bought from 'Supplies for All' - and maybe other sellers too - have a rectangular shape, rather than the curved ones in the photo.) They do a great job, and are very good value (3 pairs plus p+p only cost me £12.47).

The item delivered is not the same shape as that pictured which is disappointing. However it does the job just fine and delivery was very fast.

UPDATE: It's now April 2021 and this product is still going strong.These are ideal for book ends, DVD ends, console game ends etc. They are well made and sturdy, and they add almost no height to the books or DVD's/CD's, etc that you store between them. They can be used as a pair, or individually if one end of your shelf/bookcase already has a side (providing what you are supporting covers the bottom leg, ideally the longest, but could work with the shortest also). They are the height as described which is just shorter than most XBox360/One cases, most DVD cases are about this size also, and also about as wide, so in reality they are perfect :-D Suffice to say, if I needed more I would happily purchase these again, I would happily use them to support books of about twice their height and depth, so you could consider them heavy duty, less suited for floppy magazines, but that's why their called book ends I guess. :-D

These book ends are a great item. I have actually used them to stop my childs DVDs from falling over - and they have done a great job. These are the perfect size for keeping DVDs in order - as I know you can purchase the same brand in a larger size.In relation to "heavy duty" - I'm not sold on this. Yes, the bookends are solid and hold their own, but there not what I would consider "heavy duty". In reality what happens is that the books you are keeping in order, the weight of these on the book ends is what keeps the book ends in place. I have yet to try them on very large books, but I have no doubt they would done the job for the very reason I have just stated.Overall, from a cost perspective, I do not think you can get any better so I am highly recommended them.P.s Be mindful of who you choose to purchase from as the seller I chose was horrendous. Quite rude.

El metal es de los mejores materiales para este tipo de objetos. Realmente resistentes y duraderos.En la peana que sobresale puedes poner otro libro si es que tienes el mismo problema de espacio que yo.

Fermalibri di buona qualità con spigoli arrotondati ben rifiniti (niente parti taglienti). La parte che viene infilata sotto i libri da sorreggere è lunga 17 cm e conferisce stabilità.

J'aime beaucoup ces serres-livres discrets et classiques qui m'aident à tenir de longues rangées de livres, en en plaçant régulièrement. Pour du grand format (type A4) lourd et en bout de ligne c'est surement un peu souple. Les prix étant très fluctuants, je me suis décidé à les commander à la faveur d'une baisse significative. Et j'en ai repris,sans regrets...

Wie beschrieben sind die Bücherstützen sehr stabil und halten auch die größeren Bücher !Wir sind mit den Stützen sehr zufrieden.
