Value for your money (+4 year of use update)
First time for me buying a Hotpoint branded cooker. Have to admit to not looking much into the specs given my old cooker gave up the will to live during kitchen renovations, and I quickly needed another standalone cooker to tie me over until it was finished. The build quality is very good given the price and has some nice features which my old one completely lacked. Nice to see it comes with a 10 year parts warranty, and although I’m unlikely to keep it long enough to even see the full 1 year warranty expire, I would still be confident for it to last at least beyond the parts warranty. If my new kitchen had been designed to accommodate a standalone cooker then I would not have been disappointed with this purchase.I would recommend having the cooker and grill on for at least fifteen minutes without anything being cooked when you first use it. Although it doesn’t affect the cooking, the newness smell is not the most pleasant. I found the grill to be the worst of the two and as needed to keep it on for about 15 minutes to burn it off.To give an example of what the main oven can handle: I’ve easily been able to cook a roast dinner for six people without a problem given there are three levels. I personally set the oven up with the two racks so the middle had the highest space for the protein (easily for a med chicken), with the top and bottom for roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.Installation:This was simple and can easily be done by anyone who can wire a plug. Just use a screwdriver to release the two plastic lugs underneath the plastic cover and lift up. All terminals are clearly marked ( L,N,E) both near the terminals and on a diagram stuck to the back of the cooker. Takes only a few minutes to open the cable grabber and insert the wires. You’ll need an allen key for the terminal posts though. You could use pliers but I would not recommend it as you are unlikely to get them tight enough. Once you have tightened the terminals press down the plastic cover and screw on the metal cover which you’ll find inside the top oven with the racks etc.Delivery:Was sent an email immediately after purchase stating the day it would be delivered. Email had link to track the item which was very informative. Also had option to change delivery date and time. AO tracking website not only gave me a 30 min window, it also told me how many deliveries the driver needed to make before reaching me. Driver phoned 30 minutes before delivery. My only criticism was emails from Amazon were contradicting the delivery date, so I just ignored them and followed the AO tracking website.Pros:• Stylish design• Nice big 71 litre main fan assisted oven.• Secondary 42 litre oven is ideal size for cooking small single meals• Grill is fast and even for toasting breads and can be set for just middle rather than full width.• Knobs are not set hard against facia which allows for easy cleaning.• Can be easily connected by anyone who’s competent in basic wiring (See picture).• Fans for both ovens are nice and quiet.Cons:• No light in top oven/grill• Energy rating ‘B’ is higher than I would have liked.• Timer could be a louder as can’t hear it unless I’m in the kitchen.• Knob writing is below them rather than above and hard to see. Fine once you know what each one does.• Not sure you need a fan on when toasting bread.UPDATE: +1 year. The cooker was originally purchased with a vision of it only being used for six months. Seems the builders had other ideas as almost a year on I’m still using it. Have to say it’s been a lovely appliance to use and all without a single issue. Fan is still quiet and only just recently needed to clean the main oven for the second time. Didn’t realise the main oven sides are maintenance free, so I only needed to clean the back and bottom, plus the racks. All in all, a great purchase.UPDATE: +4 yearsTo be honest, we never thought we’d still be using this appliance after so many years given it was only purchased as a temporary fix whilst we had a major rebuild which included the kitchen. Didn’t see Covid coming so the one-year project was put back even further than we expected.Even so, it has been almost faultless. The only issue which slowly showed up was the grill element drooping down further and further. As we only used it for toast I just kept lowered the grilling pan to keep the same distance, until I felt it was getting a bit of a pain as we often use the top grill compartment to warm plates. Solution only took a few minutes as only a matter of lifting the element and bending the side lugs to engage with the pre formed holders on the side of the oven.

Cooker
Damned-fool question on the part of Amazon: it's a cooker, so I use it for cooking lol..... My only gripes are that the grill-pan is quite small (albeit that it fits in the dishwasher better), and the oven temperature is about 10-20 degrees lower than I might need. Having said that, I'm very pleased, and seldom need to cremate things in it :-)

The hob has a ring for either a large pan or a small one xx
I love this cooker as it's now my third in many years x The grill is also a double oven which comes in very handy x The main oven is a fan which cooks food quicker too x The hob is ceramic very easy to clean with the help of hobbrite.....I will always stick to this cooker until Hotpoint stop producing them xx
