Making Memories Slice Cordless Design Cutter Machine Starter Set

Does not cut anything. We have watched every video and even changed the cutter which should not happen when you purchase something new.

I recently purchased the slice memories maker. First of all let me say I really, really like it. I really wasn't sure what to expect since I had seen so many mixed reviews. Mostly, I noticed that the negetive reviews were from people comparing it to the cricut. I own both the cricut expression and the cricut cake. Comparing the slice to the cricut is like comparing your microwave to your stove. They both have their place. It depends on the job. Yes, I could heat my coffee up on my stove but, I would rather pop it in the microwave. At the same time I wouldn't want to try to make a Thanksgiving meal in my microwave. The slice is compact and easy to take with you plus it can work both cordless and plugged in. It only cuts pieces up to 4" and only one at a time. I'm not a big time crafter so that is usually all I want. I'm sure my cricut is able to cut much thicker paper and material. The second thing I noticed people complaining about was the glue. Because of that I purchased the slice repositional glue in the can. It worked perfectly(but was expensive for what it is). I was able to cut several pieces without having to respray. When I go to the craft store I will get a much less expensive glue. It's a glass mat so that part is really nice. The third thing people complained about was cleaning the glue residue. One lady said she used nail polish remover. I tried that and it worked but took a bit of elbow grease. Then, I thought I would try the Mr. Clean white sponge. It worked like a charm! It was broken I tried to return it.I called to get my money back & still nobody notified me.Very frustrating.

I was very excited to finally own a Slice machine and I was optimistic that the many complaints I had read wouldn't apply to me. Sadly I was wrong. The problem with my machine is that it doesn't cut straight lines and circles correctly. Everything tends to lean to the right. My letters and words cut perfectly, but if I want a letter in a box, the box is skew. I have tried recalibrating, but I have to choose the straightest line, and I don't get any in my options! I tried the help service and they first replied with the standard responses of "have you plugged it in, have you charged the battery?" I was a bit annoyed at this as I had obviously followed all the troubeshooting guidelines in the manual. I was then told to try and adjust the blade. This I still need to try. Am hoping someone out there has the same problem with their Slice and can give me some proper advice! I'm sure the problem can be fixed, it's just a case of how.

I like it very much. I don't have a problem with the glue at all. I'm going to buy the embossing tips too to add more things to my scrapbooking. Even if you cut each letter individually it doesn't take long and the glue lasts until you finish with everything.I would really recommend this for a low budget cutting machine. I like the fact that they release new cards often, and they're not as expensive as the Cricut.

If you are looking for a die cutting machine, do not get this one. I ordered it off here and recieved it not long after. On the first day, the power button stopped working. The machine would turn on randomly or not at all. I then returned that one and ordered the same product, but off of the Joanns Fabric website. I recieved that one 10 days later, and it had multiple problems. First of all, I would turn it on and it would stay on for probably 15 seconds and then it would just turn off. Also, the 2 times I got it to stay on for more than 20 seconds, when I would try to cut something, it would cut something, but not what I had set it to. It just cut in a whole bunch of random lines. I am now in the process of returning that one as well. I hope that everyone who is reading this is can find a die cutting machine that fits them and ACTUALLY WORKS!

I absolutely LOVED this little maching. My husband went out and surprised me with a Cricut machine. I have to say that I do NOT love it...it is quite complicated. But, I couldn't let my husband know that, so I raved about the new machine. My friend bought my slice ;o(. The short time I had it, I enjoyed using it. While I found it a bit singular, it was very easy to use. Thank you for a lovely machine!Pam Quackenbush

Seller is an absolute liar! Sold me this stating a new product but the package had obviously been opened. DIDNT EVEN HAVE POWER CORD WITH IT THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE INCLUDED. Contacted seller multiple times but he kept giving me the run around. He told me on 3 different occasions he was "popping one in the mail" to me but never did. So I now am the proud owner of a $75 paperweight. This guy will just repeatedly lie to you, take your money and laugh at you all the way to the bank.
