Simply great, easy to install with excellent adjustments

Great hinges but they are designed for fitting to a large metal gate.The gate bolts are 9mm x 4 inches galvanised steel - far too long for a standard garden gate. I replaced them with 1 !/4 inch coach bolts - great for my wooden gate but the bolts are untreated so they will rust. I have coated the bolts with LM grease so I do expect them to last for years, but perhaps not as long as the hinge.These hinges are super easy to install and can be adjusted once fitted so the installation does not have to be super accurate. One of the assemblies had some large casting lumps on the inside of the hinge ring so that the pin would not fit. I spent 30 minutes removing these lumps with a mechanical circular file in my electric drill and the hinge now fits and works perfectly. I don't know if the lumps were zink or steel so I dont know if the hinge will rust where i removed the lumps. Lots of LM grease again, so I don't expect I will have too many problems - re application of the grease a couple of times a year should keep the hinges in good condition.So, to summarise: These are a great alternative to standard gate T-hinges - easy to fit and adjust to give a perfect horizontal fit. The zink plating can be a bit rough and you may have to be a bit handy with a round file to make sure the strap fits to the post. These particular hinges come with fixing bolts (not all hinges do) but the bolts supplied may not be suitable for your particular gate arrangement - check with the supplier before you buy. Be aware that wherease T hinges tend to sit flat against the gate and post these hinges protrude by about 2 inches.

Good heavy duty hinges

Used these on heavy drive way gates, split 30/70 ratio with these on the 30% 900mm. Very sturdy and strong, easy adjustment, note doesn't come with fixings but I'd rather get me own anyway. Won't tell if the galvanizing is any good yet but will update the review if it fails.
