Excellent product, highly recommended for 15.6 inch or smaller laptop.
Genuinely has to be the best one I've had yet. I've got a HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook (15-ak002na) and it gets pretty warm/hot when playing games like COD, Fifa and GTV5 using the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M graphics card. I've used other pads that don't seem to make much of a difference (processor still gets as high as 80* even with the other cooling pads). I've an app on my laptop that monitors the temperature and even when running the games for a good few hours, this cooling pad keeps the cores at a steady 50-55*, which is perfect. It's lightweight yet strong; the legs feel secure and are level (they have a cushion at the bottom to avoid scratching surfaces). The little legs on the top are well placed, though my laptop grips the mesh quite well so they're not really needed, even when the bottom legs are out. The fans are quite yet powerful. You can feel the cool air being distributed around the underside of the laptop and it sits comfortably on my lap without the weight causing the fans to catch or slow down. My laptop fan vent is on the rear right and the top right fan is ideally placed. The remaining three fans might not be needed but it's a comfort to know they're all working to improve the airflow and it is no doubt designed to cater for any laptop. I am not sure it would work too well with a 17 inch laptop, though I can't be sure. I only say this because mine fits so perfectly and is obviously smaller than a 17inch laptop. Brilliant product and would highly recommend.

For the money, works so well why get a more expensive one?
I bought this as it is one of the highest and most rated products of this type on Amazon. And I can see why. I had to re-download lots of programmes, games etc. due to a new laptop, and this pad kept the temperatures so low to an extent I thought the laptop WASN'T working! The pad is very appealing to the eye, and doesn't look or feel flimsy in any way. I was worried the large fans would make enough noise to be distracting, but the laptop is noisier than the fans! Literally they are whisper quiet. Another added bonus is the ability to control not only the fan speed, but the LED brightness too, a nice touch in my opinion. Powering the unit is as simple as plugging it into any USB port on your laptop. No fuss, no bother. The height of the pad is at a comfortable angle, and the holding pegs were strong enough to hold my big ass 17.3" laptop easy, no mean feat as it weighs a lot due to its aluminium case! The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is that even though it CAN take laptops up to 17" you will get slight overhang over the top of the pad, but this is a very, very minor gripe that I have. All in all, this is a must have if you use a laptop daily from a fixed position or for gaming - it will save your laptop and keep it working at Max efficiency for longer and safer.

Does the job well.
Absolutely wonderful piece of kit. Received this item about a week ago and this, alongside the AMNIE AE-LC1502, my laptop's core temperatures have plummeted 30 degrees! My laptop is a 6 year old machine, so naturally the temperature of my laptop will be hotter due to the strain on it. Recently it has been overheating so much it auto shuts down, causing a lot of stress, even despite good ventilation on a platform near a cold open window. Before using the coolers, using speedfan, my cores were reaching 90-100 degrees when doing memory intense activities. With both of these pieces of kit on, the same activities knocked the temperatures down to 60-70! Sometimes to 50! The cooling pad looks really cool with it's blue lights switched on when the fans are on. With two switches you can control the front two fans, or the back two fans. It is very lightweight and can be raised to a slight gradient, which I've found to be good. It also has some stoppers at the front to prevent your laptop sliding down (if it has poor grip) which has been useful again. The fans themselves are relatively quiet, I haven't heard them much even on full, but I use headphones a lot with my laptop so I can't hear them anyway. Overall I would definitely recommend this item, you definitely get value for money.

Excellent product for a really good price.
My laptop runs a bit on the warm side so I've been looking for something to keep it cool. Of the cooling pads I've tried this is definitely one of the best. Four large fans, controlled in pairs by a dial at the back of the pad blows enough cool air at my laptop to keep it nice and chilly. The blue neon lights are likewise controlled by the rear mounted on/off dials and light up when the fans are on. So if you have a problem recognising when something is spinning, you have a light for a clue as well. The other issue I've had with other cooling pads, is that while they claim to fit a 17" laptop, most don't, and the laptop overhangs by quite a bit. My 17" ROG sits on this one perfectly. Just enough overhang to enable easy access to the laptop ports, but not so much that the air flow is spoiled. The construction is well finished and smoothed off and solid. As I said I've tried several cooling pads and most of them either have a flimsy frame, weak supports or poorly design lugs that snap off if the laptop rests against them. Everything about this pad is pretty solid. Good sized legs fold out to lift the pad at an angle of you require this for ease of use. The rubber feet on the bottom are well mounted and grippy so the pad doesn't slide around. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this purchase, for the price you get an extremely good deal. Strong, solid, and more than sufficient air-flow should keep pretty much any laptop down in the chilly range and prevent over-heating. Air flow is controlled via two dials at the rear of the pad, which control the fans in pairs. Top and Bottom so if you're gaming you can spin up the other two fans and keep the laptop nicely chilled. There are two USB ports at the back as well, so if you are limited on ports on the laptop, this provides two for the price of one. Power is supplied to the pad via USB plugged into the laptop, although I have mine running from a USB extender.

Plenty of air and well positioned fans, but disappointing quality
Ordered this item after a fair chunk of research to replace a generic 3 fan laptop cooler which had given up the ghost. I was hoping for something of similar quality and, from the reviews I've read better performance. However, I've been left disappointed. Build quality is acceptable at this price point however there are a number of issues which will result in a click on the return item. Firstly the fans, the main functional element are of poor quality and are not only noise in operation but also exhibit ticking/clicking bearings; they are significantly more noisy than my Omen 17 laptop fans. Secondly the fan speed/power controller has no discernible effect on the fan speed; it is merely a glorified on off button. Finally my HP Omen 17 barely fits; whilst the "upper" fans are well positioned for the CPU & GPU intakes, the laptop does not feel secure on this stand, even with the tabs deployed on the bottom edge. On the plus side, the throughput of air appears to be good, if that's your only criteria then this could be a solution for you. In short I shall be looking for an alternative.

Well worth the money to keep your laptop cool!
Really pleased with this product, it can be placed flat or on it's sturdy foldable tilting legs. I have a fairly large laptop (see photo), which fits perfectly. The cooling pad also has foldable 'laptop stops' that you can use to stop your laptop from sliding down, but I don't need it as my laptop doesn't move, I'm guessing due to its size/weight and rubber feet. My Laptop's vent is to the side, so when I first bought the pad, I ran some heavy RAM & CPU processes to heat the laptop up, then switched on the rear two fans only. The cooling pad cooled the laptop down within a few minutes. I rarely have to use all 4 fans. The two USB ports and fan switches are on the rear of the pad. One of the USB ports is used to power the pad to your laptop, the other can be used for charging phones/cameras etc. The 4 fans are paired (2 rear and 2 front), you can adjust the speed of each pair. Even with all four fans running, the pad is near silent. Fab design. Does exactly as advertised! So far so good, nice look, slim cooling pad, so can be stored easily. Really pleased with it. UPDATE 23rd April 2017. Still love this cooling pad! Not only can you use the USB port to charge, but you can also use it as a data port. So you aren't a USB Port down because you have the pad connected to the laptop. Great bit of kit! UPDATE 5th January 2020: Still going strong-I use this everyday! Love it

Terrible product! Don't waste your money!
The feet which are supposed to stop it sliding off just popping out of the bracket and the laptop falls to the ground. After three months of use, two of the upper fans broke (look at the photo). Very poor connection. As other users note, it does not cool almost anything. Terrible product! Don't waste your money! It is shame for the Amazon and their 30-day Amazon return policy. What does this mean? If item brokes after 30-day - "Congratulations!!! You have just lost your money!!!". And please do not advise me as you do with others to: a--. Open to amazon.com; b--. Please click "Your Account" c--. Please click "Your Orders" d--. Please click 'Contact Us' to send us an email. Because there is no 'Contact Us' to click on it! Unless of course, this is your perverse way to mockery with your customers.

Not great on a 15" MacBook Air
This works ok, like a previous reviewer said, the lights are ok for teenagers, I found them distracting so would be good if you could turn them off. I used this for my 15" MacBook Air which, even though it is the highest spec you can buy is not intended for gaming so it heats up quite a lot. It didnt work as well as I would have liked. It cools it down a little, but not enough to risk overheating. Good for running a lot of applications at once, but for me, not helpful for cooling down the CPU sufficiently to run games. It may work great for other laptops but for this specific purpose, it didnt work for me. I am going to try it on my 17" gaming Dell and see how it goes on that. Stay tuned.
