Takes some getting used to!
I really wanted this to work.I read the reviews and figured that the people complaining about it getting knotted must just be doing something wrong. So, mine arrived yesterday. Last night I washed and then mostly dried my hair, but left it a little damp. I put in the band, which was really easy, and took about 5 minutes.Wearing it for bed wasn't an issue. I was aware of it, but it wasn't painful at all, or even uncomfortable. You can move it around when it's in without fear of it coming out or any other problems, so I sort of just pushed it up and slept as normal. My problem came when I wanted to remove it. I had both read the instructions on the box, and watched the video on the website, so I was feeling fairly confident. I first tried turning down the band, as stated on the box, but found that this just caused some painful pulling. Next, I took the advice of the video; I pulled the band away from my head with one hand, and with the other, found the end of the last coil of hair and tried to unravel it from the inside of the band. This does work, to some sort of extent, but so much hair gets caught up and stuck on the velcro that it is impossible to get it all off. I have no idea how they make it look so easy in the video, but it doesn't happen like that for real. In the end I'd managed to uncoil a good amount of hair, and just sort of tugged the band down around my neck, at which point I was able to pull off the stuck pieces of hair and then remove the band.At this point I had pretty much lost all hope. I was fairly certain my hair was just going to be a nasty, tangled mess. I shook it out, as the video tells you to, and then ran my fingers through it and braved the mirror. It wasn't as bad as I expected, but it wasn't great. The sticking and pulling and velcro had caused quite a bit of frizz. If we took that out of the equation, then the resulting curls may not have been as bad, probably would've looked quite pretty, but it wasn't smooth, it was messy. The curls themselves were not so much curls, as a few twists and waves around the ends of my hair. By no stretch of the imagination did my hair look anything at all like the woman in the advert picture.I give it three stars because I am hopeful...I look at the other reviews and I see the pictures posted by other users who had had great results, and I have got to assume I am doing something wrong. I have got to assume that my issue is in the removal. I am guessing that if I could take the band off with the ease shown in the video then I would be doing so without damaging the curls and without causing undue frizz, and that the result would be a lot better. So, I am going to practice and practice and practice. Given my experience sofar I do not believe it is possible to remove the band without issues, but I've seen the video, they manae it, and so I am sure that if I persist enough I surely will be able to get better at this.Fingers crossed.EDIT: I feel the need to edit my review to add some extra info, and to slightly up my star rating. I put the band in for the second time last night- I intend to practice until perfect.Again, I had no issues at all putting it in, and none at all sleeping in it. When I came to remove it this morning I took a deep breath, and anticipated 20 minutes of frustrated yanking at knots.Instead of doing as directed on the box (turning the band inside out to expose the non velcro side) I used one hand to pull the band away from the side of my head. I held it there, and used the other hand to find the first loop closest to the nape of my neck, on one side of my head, on the inside of the band. I ued one finger to tug gently at this loop, until it slid out. I repeated this process up that side of my head until the hair was free, and then I did the same on the other side. I then lifted the band off the top of my head! There were still some snaggy bits that caught on the velcro, and around my roots still look frizzy and messy, but the curls themselves, when undamaged by furious tugging, actually look much better. Still not box-perfect, but much, much better than my first attempt. I'd happily spray a little something on my roots to smooth them, a bit of hairspray to keep the curls from dropping, and call this a successful hairstyle. So I'm upping my review, and I'm advising people not to give up the first time they hit a bump with this! This was only my second time using it, and I've come along in leaps and bounds. I'm far more confident using it, and am so glad I didn't just give up on it after my first bad try.Once you learn how to actually get it out, it's a really great little piece.I'm knocking off a star overall because I DO think it can be finicky and difficult and because no matter how good I get at this, there will always be snagging and frizz (I suspect this is more so with long har, mine is pretty much the exact same length as the girl in the pic on the box). But I'm glad I persisted.

Not very impressed (sadly)
I was very skeptical of this product - i mean it looks so easy from all the tutorial videos i've watched and naturally I thought this wouldn't happen in real life. Personally, I've always believed myself to be good with my hair. Middle back length hair with quite a bit of thickness... I can do buns, variety of plaits, curling ETC but i wanted this product for those days when i couldn't be bothered really. The first time i used it, it asked to dry the roots completely and leave the rest a little damp. So.. did that... curled my whole hair round the roller until the last piece when it got all tangled. I had work the next day so i thought, let me take it all out and try again just in case. but WOW. because its so full of velcro material and my hair was slightly wet I couldn't get my hair out! it was all tangled and disgusting it was so painful. Anyway, not one to give up I eventually got my hair out and completely dried my hair this time - rewrapped my hair and went to bed. I awoke in the morning, battled to untangle again but was pretty impressed that it had at least managed to curl my hair. Not perfectly may i had... It was like a birds nest because i had to battle with it but it looked nice when i put it up in a pony tail.Since then I've used this four times. I'm not overly impressed.. I think my hair is too long as i can never finish curling at the back and therefore in the morning theres not much curl to the main bulk of my hair except for the sides looking great. I'll continue to try and perfect the technique!

Easier than I was expecting & well worth buying.
I used this for the first time last night and on the whole I really like it. I have extensions in so I was eager to see if it would work ok as I've seen some people say this can affect the outcome, although I don't know why it would. I can say in my experience it works pretty well with extensions. I rolled my hair up within about 4 minutes put a sleeping cap on top of that to make sure it wouldn't slip. I didn't look too great but luckily I was sleeping alone. It was sooo comfy to sleep on which is great and did not budge at all. When I woke up in the morning my hair looked exactly the same as when I'd gone to bed. I've seen people have ALOT of difficulty taking this out and that wasn't my experience. You flip the band inside out whilst it's still on your head, then starting at the back untuck each section of hair. Probably took me about 90 seconds, I can see potential for tangling but it was fine. I definitely have some well defined waves here. They don't look like they'll last long so we'll have to see about that but not bad at all. If I had done this with freshly washed hair that was 80% dry like the band recommends I think it would have come out much better, but my hair was unwashed & completely dry and I still got pretty good results so so far I am really liking this. It is definitely worth the purchase and a fantastic value for money.
