Item: Great. Customer Service:Truely abysmal
I purchased this item a week after it was first available.Product works brilliantly. Very easy to install, starts working straight away with the software - I already had the CAM software installed since I was using prior to purchasing product. When the product finally arrived I was very pleased with it. It allows to me to reduce voltage and wattage being drawn from my motherboard meaning I can get more powerful fans without worrying about causing any damage to my MOBO. Using the CAM software I can set my own fan curves or use the 2 preset - Silence and Performance. It comes with a cable to plug into your MOBO, a power cable - uses a standard 4 pin molex, and 2 extensions cables for your fans. It has 6 fan slots on it meaning 4 of the cables can't get extended, however I had no problem plugging my 3 fans straight in, only used 1 cable extender just to hide the fan cable/better cable routing. Only problem is no temperature probes meaning you have to use the built in ones on your computer. Not that these aren't accurate, just something that would have been nice to have. That all being said the customer services from both NZXT and amazon was terrible on this one. A month delay to shipping -after a 3 week delay anyway- with no explanation, just a copy/paste letter from amazon. Would have liked some comment from NZXT themselves as to why they delayed shipping a month. Perhaps it was always to be released on Nov. 16th but amazon thought it was Oct. 16th and thus I was forced to wait? No explanation as to why it was 3 weeks to begin with. There was nothing on the page telling me it wasn't released yet. No compensation, not even a free next day delivery on the next item/this one. I can't see any problems with ordering this from here on out I just wish that I had known it would haven taken 7 weeks to being with.Overall, if you want a fan controller but don't want an external one because they are expensive, go with this and get the software. Make sure you get the Grid+ V2 though and not the V1. Similar names, similar design, similar cost.

Hardware is great but the software needs work.
As per the other reviews, the CAM software (v3) is really bad. Its bloated and slow and constantly uses 5% or so CPU while doing nothing.Don't let that put you off though! As you can uninstall it once you've set up your fan profiles if you dont need the fancy CPU or GPU based control. I simply wanted to plug all my fans in and set up the airflow how I wanted without having to use 5v/7v low noise adapters and disconnecting/reconnecting fan headers. It allowed me to play with intake/exhaust fans and see which combination was more effective for cooling. It was also useful to set fans to run at lower speeds to keep them quiet. I ended up going with a positive pressure setup (no dust) of 2 intake fans at 30% and a top exhaust fan at 25%. I disabled the rear exhaust fan as it didnt make any difference during testing. Its been running for the past month without the software installed and had many reboots (the device remembers your settings) and so far Ive only had to vacuum the intake dust filters. For reference, it fits into a S340 case behind the motherboard tray (although it is a very snug fit). I ended up placing it on the side of the power supply instead as there was more room for cable routing.

Excellent. Just turn off 'top apps'!
This is a cool item.Does away with fancy lights and graphics like the 5.25 bay controllers and give you a much tidier and automatic solution.Plug in your fans, fire up the software and enjoy a silent PC that will up the fan speeds as needed. It plugs into a usb header on the m/b, power from the 12v and then you plug in your fans or extensions. Its a little black box and fits anywhere in your PC.You can choose GPU or CPU for each of the 6 channels - and of course you can use a splitter on each channel so the amount of fans you can run is more than youll ever need. 6 channels in itself is probably enough. The software is actually pretty good to. Ive seen a lot of criticism of it and while they have a point - it still is quite good.NOTE: Firstly i had to turn off "top apps" otherwise itll consume a stupid amount of cpu. Then you get to customise your fan speeds. It also gives you a fair bit of info over your system, including all the temps (graphed) min, max's even a frame rate counter. It didnt capture my 950 M2's temps tho which was unfortunate - but not much does.It can give an ingame overlay which at first i disabled - but then realised its actually quite handy. And removes the need for using additional monitors for temp monitoringAnd it logs your gameplay so you can view your sessions framerates. Pretty handy for testing, overclocking etc.All in all i really like this product. Its expensive for a fan controller that has no pretty screens. But imo its the best controller on the market by a mile.If they keep working on the CAM software this is 5 star product. It needs some tweeks to make it excellent rather than just ok/good.

It does it's job but the flaws in design are hard to overlook.
I'd love you give a higher rating although the unit has some annoying issues. When you plug fans directly into the unit it's really hard to remove them again. I recommend instead using the splitters (although I needed more than were supplied) as you can disconnect the fans from the splitter and leave the splitter connected. The software is good (it controls the fans perfectly) although it prompts for UAC everytime and the NZXT server was down for days and had to get support to reset my account due to login issue. Still waiting for that to happen before I can log in.The unit doesn't naturally fit well in the PC case so had to put in the HDD section with the provided velcro. It would be much better if the unit could be screwed in like a 2.5inch HDD rather than using velcro tape.I wouldn't buy another one, will probably go with the Corsair version next time.
