Pretty much a perfect FPV/HD capture drone
I love this product. I've been flying planes for a few years and wanted an out of the box FPV experience which wasn't a drone, but had the same features as the DJI products. Examples being return to home, decent range and easy take off and landing. When I saw the Parrott Disco I ordered immediately. Since then I had about 5 hours of flight time, mostly in the parks and over farm land, but my favorite out to sea about 1km. I have videos on my you tube channel Madmathius. Now this is very easy to fly due to the automation. The HD footage is excellent in good quality light conditions. The battery life is a solid 30 to 40 mins, wind effects the life and the amount of time you spend climbing or at full chat flying along. True range I find to be about a mile, it all depends on terrain, and while flying if anyone else is out there with a powerful transmitter or receive (I found my brothers quadcopter FPV gear did cause it to shorten too around 500m). Make sure you have plenty of room to land. I've heard people come in stuck here and it really isn't a garden launch and land. You need a clear large field for the automated spiral decent. The trick I find it to fly it in low and slow (but not too low, around 5m up) and then punch the landing button as it comes in, it then will land in a straight line within about 10 meters. Transportation is a breeze as the wings easily clip on and off. The glass are very immersive, but I prefer the HD down link to my phone as the picture quality is higher. The return to home function works well and saved my bacon a couple of times. There is nothing worse than losing signal and the initial panic, to suddenly hear that little motor humming in the distance and then the signal return as it approaches you! Couple of down sides, the initial flight calibration did not pick up the final move, so I turned it all off and started again and that worked. You don't really learn to fly with this plane. The automation levels are high so for experienced pilots who want fast, dynamic video, this isn't ideal and a Hobby Horzion Theory Type W would be better, which I also have....but that is an advanced 100mph plane and I would only recommend that to true hobbyists!! It's a twitchy little sucker. I hope that helps and happy flying!

The stock battery might lead you to crash
This product is amazing. Very easy to fly. Fly very smoothly. The current price is ideal. Before it was too expensive. The software is ok but definitely not like DJI GO4.Be careful with the battery. Battery is faulty due to is age. This product was manufactured back in 2016. So once u charge and full throttle during a flight the battery cannot handle the pressure and it gonna shut down the motor during a flight. So you might experience weird crashes like that which I already had in my maiden flight.

A very good drone which can be flown very easily
A very good drone which can be flown very easily. All I would say, is that it isn't suited to flying near residential areas as the wifi interference can seriously impact it's distance and video feed. So wasn't suitable for me !

Not for beginners
Thought I'd leave it a while till I wrote a review. Used the disco for around 25 flights now and love it, just one word of warning. It's not for beginners, don't expect to take it out of the box and fly it perfectly without some kind of fixed wing flight experience. Yes, it is a drone and has features that make it easier to fly, but it can travel at approx 50mph then if you add a 20mph tailwind at 80 metres altitude you are travelling as quick as a car on the motorway. Not something that is easy to control and will soon disappear on you. However, once you master the controls this drone is a wonderful bit of kit. Easy to assemble, while the launch feature does the hard work for you and the drone climbs to altitude and circles awaiting your input. You can set a minimum altitude to fly at and the drone won't fly lower, this is set from your launch altitude so be aware if your flying in a valley. Manual landing is tricky at first, although it does have auto landing features, you will need lots of room for this. The camera quality is good with 1080p HD and for a fixed wing when flown level will show steady shots. Overall a nice piece of kit.

DONT BUY THIS!!
Hello, I naught this as a Christmas present. On the first flight, the Parrot Disco was supposed to go up to a height of 60meters and circle round me in the air. On the first flight, me and my sister took it outside on a big Cricket field and send it up..... I had camera connection to the phone for about 30 seconds. Than the image froze on my phone, after about 30-45 seconds I lost visual sight of the Disco. I pressed the return button and the Button got stuck into the remote control!!!The plane went down after a few minutes of flight, and I used the gps system to go find it. On the remot control it said it landed 600meters away from me. I got as close as 2 meters distance and still saw nothing. After searching through people's back garden for 4 hours. There was no sigh of the Parrot Disco. The so called help line was supposed to do an investigation...I filled in a form of what happened... waited a week, no answer, thy were supposed to answer within 48 hours.I called again after a week, and the guy called me 10 minutes later to tell me that it was my fault and there was nothing they could do about it. He did not mention anything about the button getting stuck inside the remote control or the fact that the Disco did not follow its basic programming function.Weeks would follow if emails backwards and forwards, I sent photographs of everything I had. And the best they told me was that they would offer a 10%off if I bought another one! This was a waste of £1000Right now I'm trying to take legal action, to get some sort of compensation.

A huge load of fun
I used to fly radio-control planes when I was younger, but got disenchanted after going through the 'build it, crash it' cycle too many times. I was very intrigued by the Disco - it is a very different take on the consumer drone concept. I was very concerned, however about all the poor reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. My concerns were unfounded, though. The Disco has performed better than I hoped! A few caveats, though - I knew (from my previous RC airplane experience) that a lot of space is needed. Don't expect to fly this in your back yard, or even in a small field, like you might a 'normal' helicopter drone. I fly mine around a large ranch, and it works great in that scenario.I did carefully read the manual (which is very basic, as the critics have mentioned). I also watched the Parrot tutorial videos. Launching was easy once I saw the technique, and I never had any problem. Once in the air, it climbs to 150 feet and circles, giving plenty of time to get settled writhe controller. Landing worked well, too, but just like an RC plane, it is important to line up properly, and the more space available, the easier it is.I did have problems viewing the instruments displayed on my iPhone - it's really to bright outside to see the display. The FPV goggles, on the other hand, have been really fun. Once the plane has been launched, I can load the phone into the goggles and get them over my eyes while the plane is loitering overhead. The FPV video resolution is pretty grainy (it is adjustable, however), but it is easily good enough to get the sensation of flying.I've been quite pleased with the video output, as well. It is 1080p at 24 FPV, and the footage is optically stabilized so it looks far better than what I see in the goggles. The 32 Gb of storage is far more than what's required for a flight, and it's been easy to transfer it to my phone or laptop. The software allows you to place limits on max range, and min and max altitude. I extended the range from the default 1500 feet to 2400 feet, and had no problems with connectivity as long as I pointed the transmitter at the drone. I have yet to try further distances - as it is, at 2400 feet, the drone is practically invisible and silent.I have been being conservative on run times, usually calling it quits at 35% or so, but still have been getting over a half hour on a charge. The transmitter has more capacity, so there should never be a time when it runs out before the drone. Two minor quibbles - the recharger will either charge the drone battery OR the transmitter, but not both. I plan to buy another recharger so I don't have to change cables back and forth. Also, the throttle has a spring that returns it to a middle setting - I'd rather have no spring, so that the throttle stays in place if I release the stick.

Genial.

Parrot Disco FPV Drohne
