kenable Surface Mount Back Box Pattress Box 1 Gang 16mm

I purchased this pattress to install a Unifi AC-In-Wall WiFi access point, as the standard 25mm ones available in shops were not thick enough.The box is great quality, made of good quality plastic, and the punch outs for inserting cables are very easy to remove.Also, the box had more than enough room to fit the back of the AP, and should also fit thick dimmers, thermostats, and other IoT devices.If you need a thicker pattress box, this is the one to go for, as it is great value!

This is OK and does a job at a good price, but the plastic is not so thick and it can easily crack if the surface you are mounting to is not totally flat. You can hear it creaking as you tighten the fixing screws.However, it does fit standard size cover and it seems OK once finished.

Sorting a few DIY tasks in lockdown (as you do) and needed a deeper back-box for a new dimmer switch. Found this listing, just what was needed, great price, postage fitted my project timescale. Ordered, received, fitted, job complete!Knew this seller from prior orders, so was happy to trust them and make the purchase.

Perfect for the job - it's the right size and decent quality and not too hard to adjust to add cable entry points, but it's very slightly off-white in colour, so the white face plate attached to it does give the whole thing a very slightly two-tone feel. It's not hugely noticeable and doesn't bother me, but it's something to consider it aesthetics are a top priority for you.

Bought 2 of these 25mm back boxes and they look fine but they are ridiculously brittle. On the first I tried to take the section out to pass a wire into its side and the whole unit cracked in half. Second one I tried to carefully hacksaw the same area at the side designed to be taken away for cable entry and it too split all the way through. Just steer clear, complete rubbish and will crack if you look at it just a bit funny.

I used the surface mount box for an electric heater in my rented accommodation as guests tended to leave it on. It fitted easily neat and tidy on the timer switch that I purchased separately. Marvellous. It was delivered abroad and arrived on the later date given. But all good

Ok as a back box, however, this is manufactured from very hard and brittle plastic.As I had to modify this to take ethernet cable running surface mounted, into the side, and then grommet the hole, I needed to open up side entrance holes, what a nightmare, as whole edge of box shatters like glass.Even screwed down onto undulating background makes this creak and squeak as if about to split.And Prime limits your options.Great if do not need to modify.

Good quality surface mount box, with the knockout plates at the back clear and easy to see. Make sure you check where you want the wires to come from, in relation to where the knockplates on the backbox are. It's well made, not brittle (did not crack when I took out the knockout plates) and has a good quality screw hole.
