Now that's service!
I ordered this Neewer branded condensor mic just two days ago, received a notification that it had been despatched yesterday and received today! I have managed to test the audio quality of the microphone and it is surprisingly good for the price. My voice is clear and ‘warm’ and I couldn’t detect any background noise as yet. Overall the product quality is very good, and it is nicely presented. Simple to use which I love too!

Brilliant mic for modifying
I bought this mic with the express purpose of ripping out the guts and putting in a new capsule and preamp. These are very cheap and can really boost sound quality. If you’re also planning on modifying a mic for yourself, this is a great start as the all metal housing gives you a nice place to begin building off of. If you’re not planning on modifying, the mic is surprisingly good quality for the price. It’s not USB so you’ll need an interface to use it, and one with phantom power at that, but they’re not expensive so no issue. The frequency response isn’t great, it sounds quite harsh and the mids are far too present, but this can be fixed to some extent with an EQ plug-in. Keep in mind however that this will reduce the already small dynamic range of the mic. The noise floor is quite high to the point where a gate is necessary for most purposes, and the clip threshold is quite low. Clipping begins in the mids, which gives it a cheap sound not a warm sound. But once modified, all of these issues can be fixed and you’d only end up paying about the same price of the mic again for the modifications.

A good value, large diameter condenser microphone
First impressions of this mic are that it is solidly made, well packaged and the accessories are of good quality. The supplied cable is, as it stands, of no use to me as I won't be using it with a computer sound card. I connected it to a mixer and applied 48V phantom power, it proved to be very sensitive compared to an Audio Technica 4K and readily drove Audacity to a good level on a MacBook Pro.Other reviewers have suggested a lack of sensitivity but I could not fault it in that respect. Others have mentioned noise and yes there is some noise but at a low enough level not to be a problem and at least some of what I could hear came from the elderly mixer, extraneous ambient noise was more noticeable. At the price, and bearing in mind the use to which I intend to put it, this mic represents good value for money. If you want lower noise then it will cost several times as much. The whole point is to match cost to use. If I were planning to use the mic for recording singers and/or musicians on a regular basis I would probably spend rather more but for occasional use for speech it is perfectly adequate.Be aware that the cable supplied with this microphone is not a balanced cable, it may be suitable for connecting to a computer sound card but not to a mixing desk. I'd just bin it if you won't be using the mic with a computer.

Looks cool, but that's about it.
Really, whether or not you like this mic depends on what you want to do with it.I'm looking for a nice mic to give me that 'radio voice' for voice overs for Youtube and the like. I'm currently using a dynamic mic (actually two, an AKG and a Beyerdynamic) and they are reasonably expensive ones. I'd never used a condensor mic before and bought this one to experiement and to see if I should spend some decent money on a good one. If I got really lucky, I figured this one might be good enough for my needs. I hIt's not. There is a constant background hum and the mic sounds harsh and tinny. It's just not a very good microphone. For anything approaching 'professional' use, this thing is useless. A toy. I have this running though my desk and preamp, and any amount of EQ tweaking or gain adjustment just can't get you pass the fact that this mic sounds only marginally better than a phone recording. But, that said, it's twenty-odd quid. A dynamic mic of the same price is going to sound janky, and if all you need is something 'good enough' then this thing is fine. For zoom calls or gaming, no problem. For anything where you're not actively recording, then this mic is workmanlike and will do the job.For any sort of recording, save up a bit and buy something name-branded. This mic will only disappoint. You get an odd XLR to bullet lead, and a isolation mount so it's worth a punt if you're not sure. You probably won't like it though. If you found this review helpful, I'd love it if you let me know by clicking the button below.

Record buy
Update:....Oops!!! That didn't last long..... My fault though, I left the phantom power on as I plugged it in. No disaster though as Amazon sell a kit with a new module that is a straight swap. The new module is much bigger than the old one, and actually made a good upgrade. Well worth doing even if yours hasn't yet popped............................Well that was a pleasant surprise,,, I bought this for voice overs but the sensitivity is so good I'm using it to record with. It seems by some reviews to be luck of the draw. Obviously, as with any condenser mike, you have to pay particular attention to eliminate background noise and echo. The shock mount works perfectly and screws onto a standard mike thread. The value for money of this kit is mind boggling.Delivery was the usual swift and friendly deal from Amazon that we get in our area.

Great Studio Microphone Kit
The Neewer NW-800 set is fantastic for studio recording. The condenser microphone delivers clear sound, and the shock mount and foam cap help reduce unwanted noise. The power cable is reliable, and everything fits together perfectly. Excellent value for a complete, professional setup. Highly recommended!

Not the best, but excellent for the price.
It seems to me a little thin in the low frequencies, so ideally it should be run through a mixer or the bass otherwise boosted in post-processing. Apart from that is is comparable to my Audio Technica condenser which cost several times more. Sound is clean with low noise if you set the gain and levels right. Phantom power requirement seems lower than the typical side-address condenser, as the Neewer works beautifully with my little Tascam recorder and its measly few volts of mic power, but the AT and other condensers I have do not. If you are not expecting high end quality, this cheap kit is more than satisfactory. Heck, you will find a use for the accompanying cable, shock mount, and foam shield even if you don't dig the mic. Good deal.

Bueno microfono
Buen microfono.
