Is this actually a bag or just a flat sheet of plastic?

It is two large sheets of plastic sealed together on 3 edges to form a bag - it is not shaped in any way to fit over furniture.

how many grams does this weigh?

No idea but it is quite thick for plastic covering, although it does not go round the complete sofa as we wanted them for wrapping up to store, so we used the dust cover and finished off with couple layers of shrink wrap.

Would this bag fit round a corner sofa, a curved one, its not square?

Probably not, I would imagine you would need a bigger bag size. Plastic wrap by the metre might be a better option.
