Ketostix Reagent Strips for Urinalysis, Ketone Test - 50 ea

I should preface this review by saying that I am not monitoring diabetes. Rather I am on the keto diet and out of curiosity wanted to see if my body was producing excess ketones. I also wanted to see how long after I had a 'cheat' day that I would return to ketosis. I think for these purposes this product is a reasonable but not an essential purchase. The sticks are simple to use and do indicate the presence of ketones. It should be noted that these sticks are not as accurate as the blood-based ones and are not meant to closely monitor blood ketone levels. I would recommend using them first thing in the morning, as after eating, it may take some hours before ketones are detected in the urine again.

Perfect for testing your ketones.. This did help me to know for sure that I was in ketosis .. I cut mine in half .. they last twice as long then.. good buy

These seem to work, I felt the reading was accurate. Problem is about 5 days after I first used them, I decided to re-test. I opened the container and every single test was positive, so into the bin they went. I decided to give the product the benefit of the doubt and assume it was something I did that caused this problem (like breathing too close to the container or something) and I have re-ordered. Hopefully it wont happen again. If you are going to use this product then be sure to handle it correctly.

Value for money & easy way to check level of ketones. Not as described by the picture though, box didn’t have the lines or say Bayer on it. Misleading. Supplier needs to sort the picture.

Premetto che ho preferito affidarmi ad una marca nota per evitare di ritrovarmi tra le mani un prodotto non perfettamente funzionante. Rilevata senza problemi la chetosi di media entità instauratasi nella mattinata del secondo giorno di dieta mima digiuno (che sto seguendo in questa settimana). Il colore del tamponcino rilevatore era perfettamente identico a quello corrispondente stampato sul flaconcino. Molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto.

Si quieres saber si estas en cetosis este es tu opción. Existen sensores para medir la cetosis en sangre pero los precios de sus recambios son prohibitivos. Así que me decante por las tiras de orina, que dan un análisis más que suficiente del estado de tu dieta. Me imagino que para los diabéticos también será más que suficiente y a buen precio.

I may have reviewed this product in the past, can't remember! After going though several bottles of another brand, that comes in a black bottle, then returning to the original Ketostix that I have used since the days of Dr. Atkins, I must say that the Ketostix is a better product. The others are difficult to remove from the bottle since they are not cut all the way through, often still stuck together on the bottom end, the colors not being as vivid and easy to read, and the shorter shelf life, I can say with decades of experience that Ketostix are the best I have tried. No complaints, a good product.

I am a type 1 diabetic and was recently told that my test at the lab showed ketones. I decided to check for myself just to be on top of it. These work and are easy to read. I feel confident now that I can catch any future issues with ketones to prevent me from going into keto acidosis.
