At last, a wifi booster that actually works!
First thing to say is that I have this BT product connected to a BT HomeHub, but I see no reason why it can't work with other routers. This was my third and possibly final attempt to get a wifi booster working in my home. I had to return the previous two as my devices would either connect to them intermittently or not at all. On a whim I purchased this item as it was being offered on Amazon at a reduced price and I'm so glad I did!Setup was easy: plug it in somewhere close to the router and use the WPS feature on each device to link them. Then move the booster to where you wanted to locate it, to improve the wifi signal in the rest of your premises. I was unable to find anywhere that it considered to be the correct location: the display either said too close to the router or too far away. In the end, I settled for being too close and it's been absolutely fine. From then on, it's just a case of picking up the new SSID it broadcasts on your devices. There are two, the 5Ghz for faster speeds but shorter range or 2.4Ghz for slower speeds but greater range. All the devices that I've tried have been able to connect - and stay connected - with no problems; those that have the option are using the 5Ghz connection. There is a switch on the booster for choosing either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz as the connection between the booster and the router. I've left it on 2.4Ghz as recommended in the setup instructions and haven't had any reason to change it. Doing so requires the setup process to be repeated. One thing to mention is that the instructions are easy to follow, printed in a readable size and actually make sense!I've had this booster for three days now and I held off reviewing it until I was sure it wasn't going to start dropping or refusing connections like the previous two did. So far, nothing has gone wrong. So if, like me, you've been tearing your hair out trying to find a wifi booster that actually works properly and reliably, definitely go for this one.

OK for me and strong signal now but I doubt my wife or kids could have set it up
I bought this to improve the wireless reception around our house since the main hub is in an extension tohe origianl house and therefore the signal has to go through an external wall and various inernal walls. I already have a TPLINK850RE which works intermittently but usually drops off the network every few hours so I bought this BT unit after reading a few reviews.SETUPThis was not straightforward. There is a fairly clear sheet of instructions included in the box that shows you how to set up the booster both automatically using the WPS button on your router, or manually using a browser and wireless or ethernet cable.WPS - didnt work at all for me. Several attemtps made no difference, the unit just kept searching for a signal despite being @1m from my router.Manual - also didnt work at first. Note that, you need to connect it to a computer direct for this rather than through your hub so you need to cable it to the LAN port or disconnect your computer from your exisitng wireless signal and connect to this BT signal. You can find the extender with your browser at 198.168.1.1 . This opens a control page where you can search for the right SSID of your router using an automatic wizard. After less than a minute the unit is configured and you log out. Alas, it didn't work. Once again the unit just kept searching for the signal.Manual #2 - so then I went back into the browser control page. Then to "Advanced" settings. I turned off everything automatic and ignored the wizard. This means you have to make a series of selections and type in your router password etc. My router (a Virgin Superhub2) is 2 band and although the BT unit offers to copy settings input for 2.4GHz to also cover the 5GHz I found that too stopped the unit working. As I said I had to turn off every automatic setting to get this to work. Finally, bingo, it works.PERFORMANCENow its working it is very good. Signal strength is much better than the TP unit and it has not dropped off though its only been 24hours so far the TP unit would not have lasted this long. Connection to ipad, phones, cams etc is easy and stable. I've got a many fold increase in data rates upstairs compared to the TP.OVERALLA big improvement on what I had so I gave it 4 stars ie "I like it", as I do. But at twice the price of a TPLINK and with a setup that would probably have defeated the rest of my family it would have been easy for this to score 1star.
