It is not as thick as a blade. It is thicker almost like a combat bokken. Great quality though very light weight.

solid but still lightweight, the weight reduction appears to be achieved by making it thinner in cross section by a typical wooden bokken, mine is robust enough to handle regular heavy kumitachi and free sparring both against the same weapon and wooden bokken
