Bosch P9238 Car Oil Filter - Separates Soot and Metal Particles from Engine Oil - Provides Reliable Engine Lubrication

Excellent item, easy to fit, no problems.

I changed the oil in my car this morning and also changed the filter. The filter I removed was this one - a Bosch P9238. He is my report after having it in the engine for 12,000 miles: In summary this is a good filter. More detail: l change the oil and the filters on my cars. I do this because l can ensure that quality oil and quality filters are used and correctly installed. Many garages cut corners so l prefer to do this myself. It is a very simple job. This filter comes with the seal/rubber O-ring. There seems confusion on this point on the Amazon webpage’s questions relating to this filter, but rest assured there was an O-ring in the box with the filter. I have never experienced a situation where a filter was sold without the O-ring across all brands. I believe that quality filters are important - l have seen cheap non-brand generic filters disintegrate and clog parts of an engine. This is why l tend to buy Bosch/Mann/Mahle/Purflux for my cars. When l need a filter l simply purchase whatever is currently cheapest of this lot. I have found the Amazon fitment information accurate for my car and have not had problems with parts l have bought on Amazon miss fitting my car - this is important as there is a huge variety of filters made by each manufacturer and you need to be very careful that you buy the correct filter for your car (and model/engine). Having inspected the Bosch filter l removed this morning after having it in the engine for 12,000 miles it is still in good shape, due a change certainly but not showing any problems. I recommend it.

Very difficult to replace without the correct tools but the product was good.

Fits as should

This fits a 2014 ford b max and the seal fits perfectly so Bosch must have upgraded it recently because looking at some of the reviews people were saying the seal was too small but I can say this is a good quality oil filter and I have fitted it with no problems at all

Better than the descfiption

I've never written a review for an oil filter before - nor shall I author another after this magnificent lump of synthetic fibers, plastics, and a single rubber o-ring arrived at my door in a dishevelled box inside an Amazon bag left in the bin by the postie. Purchased this oil filter after running 75,000 miles on the factory filter (and oil!) in my 2016 Ford Focus. Removed the fossilised excuse for an OEM filter after wrestling with it for 56 minutes. Peeled away the old o-ring with my trusty chisel, along with the old oil - only took 25 minutes. Slapped in this beautiful piece of German engineering, that was made in China, into my German-built British-American Ford. Fitting the filter and O-Ring took about 5 minutes - torque to spec 25NM. Fired her up to discover the wonderous sound of nothing - because it's an oil filter, not an aftermarket exhaust. If you leave this review feeling like it was a waste of time - fear not! I can confirm that an O-Ring is, in fact, in the box. You can tell this by the way that it is. Simply superb, Bosch. Skoda Superb even, but this is a Ford. fin.
