does this mount support thick desks? i have an ikea alex and with the drawers it’s about 5 inches thick. is the clamp adjustable?

Yes, the vertical adjustment is greater than 6 inches. There are set screws you adjust that fix the base closure vertically, and the final adjustment (clamping) is then done with the lever/clamp. Depending on the table underside, it may require a spacer or filler to be used when the final adjustment (clamping) is done.

was anyone tried these with a x55 rhino?

I have the x56. Works fine but didn't come with the appropriate nuts for the bolts (m6) so I ran to the local hardware store and got a substitute
