Really silly question but do I stick them flat side down or pointy ?? They actually seem to stick without any medium the flat side down !

Flat side down and press them quite firmly..... I used them to decorate a cake and at first a couple of them fell off but once pushed into icing firmly we're fine

How long do these keep for what’s there expirey date

I will used them immediately for a birthday cake.

Can these be added onto buttercream?

No the moisture in the buttercream will make them slide off
