This item was just what I was looking for. I was hoping to transfer old VHS-C tapes of my kids taken around 25 - 30 years ago and some Super 8 cine film from nearly 60 years ago The VHS-C tapes were also on DVD, so were fairlyeasy to convert. Luckily I still had my old camcorder, so it was just a case of connecting this to my PC.Very simple to use, and results have been excellent. There is an editing feature so enhancing and trimming is possible. I would definately recommend this product. So easy to install (via Windows 10) Good on screen instructions are easy to follow. Very happy.

Purchased this to transfer and digitise video from my Samsung Hi8 camcorder to my PC. The videos are all personal ones and shot on the camcorder. The problem is that the supplied software keeps saying that the videos are "copy-write" protected and therefore will not record any of them. Obviously they are not protected in any way. I subsequently purchased the Aplic USB 2.0 audio/video grabber from Amazon and have no such problems with the software and capturing the video. I bought this cable on the 21 of December 2017, I did use soon as I got it, was working great, tried two days after, still great. today 27 of May 2018 I connected the cable to my computer and nothing... the cable was not working anymore. I did try on a different computer, definitely not working. I paid £21 for this cable to be used for two times maximum... how can be that possible. Quality 0... don't​ buy

After plugging in the extra set of leads provided to the main part of the kit, I managed to connect the VHS player to the laptop. At first I couldn't get it to work (no video appearing on the laptop and Settings greyed out, although I could digitise from the internal laptop camera), so I wrote to the product helpline. I then uninstalled and reinstalled (easy - options on the menu list) and found that if you have the USB from the player connected and the player on before you open the app, it all works fine - very easily in fact. I was impressed that someone from the product helpline emailed me back very quickly (and on a Saturday). Since they asked me to write a review, I have. I'm not sure what I would have done if I'd had to rely on the S-VHS connection for the output rather than the coloured leads, since the S-VHS lead provided and the one out of my player were both the same kind (they needed the corresponding opposite one in order to be able to join together). But, hey, it works and my VHS collection can now enter the modern world.

Well this does exactly as described! Connected up my video player to my Laptop, loaded the software and away we went.Videos recorded in the 1990 copied onto USB Stick.

I’m not too good with technology, but I had no trouble connecting and using this item. I now have videos from the 90s transfered to my computer and then put on usb stick to play on the television. The only problem is seeing how young and energetic we were.

I have Windows 10. Tried two different machines, various wiring combinations (SCART, cables etc), a number of re-boots and communicating with sellers via email, but unable to get it to work properly. Item returned. Very disappointing. Ended up buying VHS to DVD recorder. More expensive but problem solved and precious memories preserved.

This product makes the copying of old VHS tapes, some recorded a long number of years ago, down onto my desktop computer so that I can then view them on my smart TV which is so smart that you cannot connect a VHS recorder to it!Great investment that is allowing me to dispose of a large pile of tapes.
