Singing Bowls are one of the ancient Tibetan MEDITATION tools. The vibrations of the singing bowls have the same wavelength found in the brainwaves that produce feelings of RELAXATION. The pure sounds produced when the wooden rim is rubbed by the mallet is said to put the brain at rest. Ideal for MINDFULNESS meditation exercises.TThe bowls are handmade in NEPAL and are made of PANCHALOGA: literally translated from Sanskrit as Five Metals. The metal alloys contain copper, tin, zinc, iron and other metals. HOW TO PLAY SINGING BOWLRubbing a BowlA singing bowl can be played by rubbing wooden or a leather covered mallet can be used. Place the bowl on your flat palm and move the mallet slowly in a clockwise direction. If the bowl is too large or heavy you can place it on a table or cushion. Use the movement of the elbow and shoulder to move the mallet around the outside mouth of the bowl, keeping the whole mallet in constant contact with the bowl. If you begin to create a rattling sound, this is not desirable, slow down.Striking a bowlA singing bowl can be played by rubbing or striking it. If striking it, sit in a relaxed position with your back straight, on a chair or cushion on the floor. If right handed, hold the bowl on the palm of the left hand at the level of your heart. Keep the hand that is holding the bowl flat. Take a deep breath and think only of your breathing as you begin to play. Strike the bowl with an upward stroke.

Small but beautiful
Firstly, there seems to be some critics about the small size of the bowl but the product description gives clearly its measurements. In my view that makes those remarks unnecessary.I personally found the singing bowl very good. It's very sturdy and seems well-made with a heavy feel to it. Well worth the money. The ringer is made of solid wood. It comes in a beautiful sturdy paper box with instructions. And a little cushion to place it on.The sound is very clear and lovely and (not being an expert) sounds to me like it's supposed to sound. Depending on the strength used it can be quite audible, don't let the size fool you.For me the size is quite handy incl. that it comes in a box, so that I can move it around quickly or storage it away (when the in-laws come as they don't really get singing bowls).Enjoy

Amazing range of tones from this little singing bowl!
This Singing Bowl is small, sturdy, travels well - and although it is "machine made" it produces a variety of tones which are amazing! It is at least three-toned. I love the way it seems to resonate with my mood - when I'm a little stressed it rings a high-pitched sound, and when I'm centred and in my own happy space, it more often rings a deep nurturing satisfying tone. It's incredible how such little bowl can have such a range of tonalities. - Plus, it is indeed very easy to play. The "hand-made" bowls often have rough edges which cause grating sounds to arise if not played very carefully. This is not the case with this one - no previous experience required! A welcome addition to my sound-healing set-up. Thank you.

Beautiful Sound
Is beautiful to look at and the sound is gorgeous. The only thing that lets it down a little is the cushion it comes with - I didn't use it and replaced it with another. But the bowl and baton are lovely.

Great product at a great price
A great product at a very competitive price, prompt delivery and very well packaged. Having looked at these in the shops, where they can be very expensive, I was worried about the quality of this singing bowl as it did seem very reasonably priced. I needn't have worried as it has a lovely 'ring' to it and is presented in a very pretty presentation box. It has been admired by friends and family already and my granddaughers are fascinated by it.I'd highly recommend this seller. Thank you.

Delighted
The item arrived within the given delivery period. It was well packed in a waterproof bag.The presentation box was covered in a very attractive material. The bowl is brass, which seems to have been turned on a machine (this is not a criticism) and is tuned to 303hz c. E- flat. The sound is delightful. The contents included an attractive blue cushion (for the bowl, not the user) and a carefully turned wooden striker.I am very happy with my purchase. Recommended.

2*
box was water damaged and smelt as if it had been sitting in a garage for years. the actual bowl was tiny and the box was huge. not atall like the picture on amazon. there was no 'resting mat' included. the leather on the handle had been ripped off and just the sticky glue residue had been left. took a whole month to arrive.on the other hand,it does the job, it was well packaged. (apart from the box). and value for money.maybe my item was a one off and anyone else ordering has a better experience. thanks

Wrong note.
The bowl and the wooden beater are OK but I have to apologise to the recipient for the awful quality of the presentation box. It is dirty shoddy and illl made and is already coming apart. I had hoped it would sit on a shelf between daily uses and look reasonable.

Four Stars
Smaller than expected, my fault entirely but it does have a lovely clear sound when struck
