Clippasafe Extendable Fireguard, Black

The item arrived in 2 parts, 1 for each side anf each side was folded flat so the box was quite narrow.On opening the box, even without reading the instructions, it was pretty obvious how it all went together.Each side folds out and on each side there are 2 clips to connect the side to the top. Each clip requires you to place a small screw into it.One you have each side built you position them in front of the fire, push them together to get the right side and then attach 4 clamps. 2 to the front and 2 to the top. Each clamp is made up of 2 metal plates attached with another bolt. Some may find getting eveything to line up correctly can be fiddly and when I dropped one of the back plates I had to move the whole guard to retrieve it but not a massive issue and only took a second.To secure the guard you get 2 wall plugs, 2 eye bolts and 2 spring clips (already attached to the guard).Make a mark on your wall inline with the clips on the guard. Fix the eye bolts and Bobs your Mothers, Brother.The guard itself is well made and well finished for the price and I can see it lasting for years to come.My only criticism is the amount of slack between the fixings and the guard. I obviously wouldn't want my daughter puling herself up on the frame when she's walking and I will be telling her so if she tries. BUT if she was to when I wasnt watching her then the guard does move a fair bit and could cause her to fall backwards. The movement doesn't sound a lot (5cm / 2" at the top) but it would certainly cause her to loose her balance which no parent wants. I did try to solve this by removing the loop betwen the clip and the guard but this made it very difficult to clip and unclip the guard. Don't get me wrong, this is not a massive issue and it's never going to fall over and ontop of my daugher, even with me swinging from it but I do wish there was less slack available to make it a bit more stable.I've seen a few questions asked too...Can it be folded away easily?******************************No. You would have to take the 4 clamps off to get it to fold flat. It would still be just as wide though. Even then it may not fold totally flat due to the 2 sides overlapping.Can you open the top?***********************No you can't but there is a gap as the sides are deeper than the top. The sping clips on the side are easy to undo however and the guard is light enough to move easily.

Great product arrived a day late but very happy with it. It is very sturdy once assembled comes with excellent fittings all that is needed for assembly is a star headed screwdriver. It also has the option to have wall fittings which can further secure the guard preventing it from being pulled down. We use the guard along with another fine mesh fire guard. The mesh on this fireguard is very big and would not catch sparks. It has been great however at stopping my 8 month old son from accessing the fire and hard fireplace.

This fire guard was quick and easy to put (I did it by myself in around 20 minutes). It also has a decent top, meaning that little one can't climb over it! The only issues I came across was connecting the two sides together; because the outer bar is thicker, it was quite tricky to make sure that they slotted together well enough that I could screw them together, but I got there in the end. Also, I found it a little tricky to bolt it to the wall as the fixtures wouldn't quite fit, but I think this was more of an issue with the structure of my fireplace rather than the product itself, as the fireplace is on a wall that is protruding slightly from the rest, meaning I needed it to go back further than it could. However, it's more of something just to bear in mind if you have something similar.

Having used this product for around a month now, I feel I can give a review of my experience to date. We bought the fire guard as our ever-moving 8 month old was becoming a little too interested in the fire place. Thus far, the fireguard has held up perfectly to his pulling it, leaning on it, chewing it etc.The fireguard was easy to put together and I found the instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. The package came with two eyehooks you can drill and screw into the wall which clip onto the fireguard to prevent it falling back/over. As Ive previously mentioned, my little ankle-biter has pulled himself up by the guard, rocked while holding it and it has not fallen over.Extending the fireguard is easy to do and simply a matter of unscrewing the small pairs of metal plates the product comes with, moving the two halves of the guard and reattaching them in the new position. So far, these have held the fire guard strongly at around 1.3m across.All in all, I have been very impressed with the quality and easy of use of this fireguard and would recommend it very much is you are looking for a way of keeping your wee nipper/pet away from the fire. Well worth the purchase price.

Useful and extendable around different sized fire places. Sturdy and clips securely in any place required.

This is a brilliant fireguard and as I have other Clippasafe stuff, I thought this would do the job and I had no hesitation ordering. It's easy to put together and sturdy. It goes roung the hard base bit and there's plenty distance between the fire and toddler. Actually my mum and dad asked me to order another one for them because their one wasn't suitable at all, they originally had a more ornamental one but this one isn't hard on the eye and to be honest, it's essential anyway. Highly recommended.

À 30cm du foyer la grille est chaude mais mais ne brûle pas.La partie supérieure haute est initialement prévue pour être assemblée à l'horizontale, mais pour protéger sur toute la hauteur du foyer (90cm) nous avons réussi à la garder verticale avec les fixations fournies.

Fantastic guard for my fireplace!!!

Mi chimenea tiene dos lados con cristal y buscaba un producto que fuera reducido y seguro. Cumple con la función pues el niño no puede meter las manos y no se calienta. Lo único el sistema de enganche, yo le he puesto unos un poco mas arriba enganchándolo sobre la misma estructura y dejo hueco por abajo para limpiar con aspiradora.

L'ho acquistato per "blindare" lo sportello in vetro della mia nuova stufa a pellet ed evitare che mio figlio si ustionasse.Ebbene, l'articolo si presenta esattamente come in foto.E' possibile montarlo doppio o ridurlo a piacimento fino alla dimensione minima consentita (circa 94cm).è robusto a sufficienza e può essere utile anche per tenere lontani da queste fonti di calore cani e animali domestici in genere.Il montaggio è immediato e semplice.Si apprezza anche un piccolo e completo kit di montaggio a parete che con due ganci permette di fissarlo a dovere (in modo che vostro figlio/a non si avventuri a trascinarlo via!!!)...quindi veramente ben pensato.Se andate nei negozi di bricolage trovate dei modelli analoghi a costi davvero assurdi...mi hanno chiesto anche 80 euro per una griglietta 50x60cm!! assurdo.Quindi supera a pieni voti il mio giudizio severo e merita le 5 stelle dato che non ha difetti di sorta. Complimenti al costruttore.
