For the reviewer who rated it 1 star because it tasted "putrid": All protein shakes taste pretty bad after you've had to drink them several times. It's their general consistency that puts me off but after buying expensive stuff instead I can tell you that spending more only slightly improves the taste, and can give you less protein per serving. So don't spend more money to get a better taste, you'll get sick of how they all taste over time. This one is definitely not the worst I've had.Advice to combat the taste: hold your nose while you drink it, and mix it well (not with a fork, use a shaker or a blender). Clamping your snout shut makes it taste like nothing at all.For protein they recommend 2 heaped scoops per serving which is 70g and they say it's 70g of protein per 100g of powder. Easy calculation for protein per serving then: 70/100*70 = 70/10*7 = 7*7 = 49g of protein per shake. If you level fill each scoop you'll probably get 30g per scoop, so 60g per 100g, therefore 42g of protein per scoop.I recommend mixing with half milk, half water. Add milk first, then the powder, then water on top. Sandwiching the powder between the liquid stops it from sticking to the bottom (which happens if you ass the powder before the liquid), or caking the roof of your shaker with slightly damp powder (which happens if you put it on top of the liquid).You'll figure out how much to fill it to make it not too thick, personally I prefer drinking more than drinking less, thick shake.Side note: milk usually has 3.4g protein per 100ml so if you drink it with a pint of milk (568ml), you get an extra 19g of protein. Milk is fatty though - offset that with skimmed milk.Only downside is I'm sick of its taste now but that happens with every other protein shake out there - I remember liking the taste of this when I first bought it. Don't let moisture get in the tub either (have it open for as short a time as possible) or it clumps together and makes the last few shakes lumpy even with a shaker. Again, this happens with all supplement powders out there. Cheers!

I have never tried any Protein shakes before and this one was great!At first, I didn't wanted to buy because of the other bad reviews, but I took a risk and it was worth it!I didn't find any other protein powder that would be at similar price and same high percentage of protein (46g of protein and just 200 calories with almost no carbs!)If you want more calories/energy/protein and that feeling like you are drinking milkshake, just add milk instead of water (I did that to make it like meal replacement)My protein powder was strawberry flavour, and the flavour was strong, which is better than having a weak one (you can adjust milk or water ratio to the powder, which I did).While drinking protein shake, it felt a bit powdery in the mouth, but it didn't feel uncomfortable or anything. Maybe expensive ones doesn't have this thing, I haven't tried others. Picky people could use blender for that, I just put it on my shake bottle with metal ball (it came with shaker bottle) and did a good shake to mix everything.Overall the protein powder is great! I didn't wanted cheap one with a lot of carbs and calories and a little of protein, thats why I choose this one!P.S the contents are just half of the overall big can, but the weight is right, it's just not handy to carry it, and if I would read the comments that the spoon is drowned in protein powder, I would think that there just isn't one provided.

Firstly, to those complaining of the taste... I'm fussy, but if you honestly think this is the worst thing you've ever tasted in your life, you need to get out more. For what it is, what it does and why you're drinking it, it tastes absolutely fine. Secondly, to those saying it doesn't mix well, I suggest that's more you than the powder. Yeah, it can settle a bit but wave it around a bit and, again, it's absolutely fine. It's protein. It's going to be slightly grainy. If you're complaining about that, I suggest you nip along to McDonald's and ask them for a chocolate milkshake.For the price and content, you won't get better. Don't be put off by people posting negative reviews because their stomach is weak.p.s Wouldn't add it to porridge. Unless you're needing a super strong adhesive for some DIY.

I bought this mainly because the reviews were not bad and it was cheap (I should have known). Coming from Maximuscle I gave this a shot - as for the product, it works fine and the results seem not bad. However I have had to throw what was almost a full tub of the stuff into the bin as I cannot stand the taste. I see from other reviews that I am not alone in this, its horrendous! I can't take any more of it as I feel sick after taking the drink. The powder does not mix well with milk either, leaving a very grainy texture. Compared to the maximuscle double chocolate, which I wouldn't have been disappointed to buy as an actual milkshake from a shop, the nutrisport is appalling. I strongly recommend paying a little more and getting better stuff!

I have tried many different protein shakes and decided to try this one as it had good overall reviews, high protein/low carb ratio and a reasonable price. And while this shake really does help me with recovery after my workouts, i do absolutely hate the taste of it. Every time i have it, i have to hold my breath and down it and then chase it up with a glass of water, it is that horrid. It kind of tastes like a very very cheap chocolate, it is very very sweet and there is an under-taste that i can't quite describe, it's just not nice.However, with all that in mind, i still think it is a good product, because it does do the work. I may give it another chance just in a different flavour, however i am mainly going to repurchase it because of the results.I hope this review helps, because when i was thinking of buying it, i saw someone say that it tastes good/better than other protein shakes.
