Really useful and robust
Well, it didn't look much when it arrived, but it's actually very good. I have a number of computer books which are 600+ pages long, and this holds them perfectly and is nice and sturdy. You can adjust the angle too, and the design does not damage the book. An excellent purchase.

Its Beauty is in its Functionality
Might not be a thing of beauty but it is a thing that is very useful. I bought it for use at home. I have bought other book holders but sadly they never held a really large book well and I have a lot of very large books but these days are too heavy for me to hold and I do not like reading with a book flat on lap or table and me bending over it.This has held every book I have put in it well and no overbalancing. The only slightly negative thing about it is the fact the parts that hold the book open do not slide so are not adjustable. The still hold the pages open on a book but the page is curved a bit so have to hold it with a finger so can read it easily but that is only at the start of a book, once more pages are read it is fine. Similar problem as you near the end but again it does still hold even the largest book open at your page and no slipping off the page.It is very light and folds up well so could easily be carried around in say a laptop bag along with laptop without either being harmed. So perfect if you want a book holder that holds lots of different sized books that cannot be kept in one place.

Great, practical and versatile.
This item is absolutely great. Plastic build, feels somewhat robust but also a bit flimsy in parts. Holds an A3 ring binder folder no problem. Good support, balances well and never had anything fall off it, it's never collapsed on me, it's just there and works and I don't even need to think about it. Highest setting is quite low, not very upright more of a slant. Great overall product. Does the job well, easy to store, good all rounder. The little prongs that hold the book pages open are a bit weak so not very effective at start or end of a book. But still very useful and you can fold them away if you don't want to use them. I am really happy with this product! 6/10.

Cheap but does the job well.
First Impressions: This is cheap. There is flex in it, and the plastic seems brittle so that if you pull and bend it a lot I imagine it could snap. However holding a book in a single position it should do well. It is cheap, so you can't expect metal parts. The angle it holds at is 45degree to 60 degree. It's not very upright, but then for a desk holder you do want some angle on it. I'm using it to hold physics books for studying, but I imagine it will hold single sheets and thinner books also.If this was used in an office environment I'm not sure it would last long but as a home user it will be fine for me. Folds flat for easy storage/transportation.

Not silver but a gloomy dark grey
The new model is not so nice as the previous lighter colour. This is not silver but a gloomy depressing dark purplish grey, like thick fog in December, fashionable no doubt in modern Britain as we decline towards anxious obscurity. Used daily, the plastic swivels wear out and collapse after about two years. Having said that, it does its job well enough.

Great for textbooks!
I was cynical given the weighty, 1000+ page thickness of my K.A Stroud textbook, that this would be any good, but it held up to the job well. The 42mm depth of the stand didn't fully fit the 1000 pages when open in the first several chapters, but fortunately this turns out not to be a problem since the page tabs still do the job well of keeping the book open. So, it works!Small rubber tabs on the back prop keep this from moving around on the desk too much and the whole thing is pretty sturdy. The book holder folds completely flat when not in use which means it can be easily hidden away on my bookshelf. My only reservation with this will be longterm use since it's made completely out of plastic. Once one of the tabs go, this will be pretty useless. But until then, this serves it's purpose.

Flat, light, high, LAPTOP Stand
I've been using this nearly daily as a laptop stand for two years. This bests many 'proper' laptop stands in a number of ways: It raises the screen higher (taking less desk space), it packs flat, it's lighter, and it's cheaper (I paid £5). It looks flimsy but it's stable and rated for books up to 10kg, which is much more than even the heaviest laptop. I've proven its longevity and mine supports my laptop and a USB screen every day. You could even buy a few and leave one wherever you might need it.

Overalk very good with a minor flaw
I use this frequently when I'm translating books, or comparing different books for study. Despite the material, it can really withstand some heavy books. I've tried it with books which are 500+ pages and it copes fine. The only flaw is that the two pop-up plastic parts which secure the book aren't too sturdy. This means with certain books that it won't hold open the book until you're on page 30 or so of a 300-400 page books. I suspect this may be in part due to the type of binding used in the book.Overall it's fantastic value for money.
