Is it ok for parrotlets to use for nesting

Hi, Komodo Aspen bedding is a excellent ground cover for many reptile species, mammals and birds. It is a very fine particle wood bedding that is good at absorbing liquid. We are not experts in the humidity and other requirements that nesting parrotlets require so we are unable to give advice on it's use in a nest box. My person experience would suggest that a coarser wood bedding may be more appropriate but we would suggest you contact an experienced breeder for more advice.

Do i lay this straight into the viv, or do i need to put something like a reptile carpet or newspaper down first?

Is this ok for syrian hamsters

Hi, I use it for my own syrian as an additional bedding to his Kaytee Clean and Cosy for enrichment and he likes it! It’s the same as Aspen marketed for hamsters, just a little smaller pieces. Unlike regular pine shavings which can in the long term cause respiratory issues in hamsters due to the fact that it’s a dusty wood, Aspen is dust free. You will feel it when you run your hands through the bedding bag and it won’t feel like something is still on there when you pull it out.
