HULISEN 12-Inch Melting Dome for Griddle & 8.5-Inch Burger Press Set

The press is perfect - we have a long rectangle one but this one is so much better because it fits in the frying pan better since its round and covers everything it needs to. We are still trying to find out what to do with the dome since that is bigger than our pan, but it will be great in the summer on the grill...

This press was definitely heavy and exactly what I was looking for. Not as much weight as one of the cast iron ones but perfect for a smash burger or to hold down bacon.

This was a gift for a burger meister, but I have to admit, I got them so my guy could make me a burger. The press is cool. You can heat it up on the stove or grill and then press the patty from above, might be useful for smash burgers, I don’t know. Pretty nifty but not always needed. The press is very large and heavy, has a wooden handle and is well crafted. Now the dome has turned into a major player in our kitchen. We used to melt everything under a rusty wok lid from the 1970’s but now we have this nice, shiny, new cooking dome that is big and covers everything perfectly. I’m so glad this gift has gone to good use, and the burgers are delish every time.

It is approaching winter as I write this review, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to grill outdoors. Bacon cheeseburgers know no season! As such, I wanted to up my outdoor grilling game, and chose the HULISEN Heavy-Duty Burger Press & Melting Dome Set to do the job. Buckle in, here is what I found! The packaging was underwhelming, as you can see in the pictures. Normally this may not be a problem, but the burger presser, which is the heavier of the two items in this set, was loose and packing looked rushed. If the package was turned up-side down (and lets admit - invariably it had to at some point in transit... though inconclusive) then it would definitely travel insecurely in the box. That aside, I unwrapped it from the light protection and plastic package... and was greatly impressed, even if my one eyebrow was initially raised. Let me just say that the burger press is impressive (see what I did there?). The handle is sturdy and the weight of the press is quite heavy. It needs to be heavy for its purpose, and it met that requirement. Pressing burgers into the grill has never been more exciting! :D I used this press not only for burgers, but let me tell you where it shines - BACON. Wow, I am used to eating curly shrunk bacon. Putting the press on bacon and cooking it directly on the flat top grill is simply game changing. The bacon is cooked evenly, looks better, and also is a great addition to the burger! The handle is heat resistant, so its easy to manage while grilling. When comparing the weightiness of the burger press, the basting dome felt a bit lighter. It has a plastic handle that must be attached with a Phillips head screwdriver prior to use. So, if you don't have a screwdriver handy then I suggest you hop right on over to your Amazon cart and buy one. The basting dome, even though it didn't feel as masterful as the press, certainly did the job on my flat top grill. I cooked some fish and vegetables and used this to seal in the flavor, and it did a fantastic job. Also worth mentioning, stainless steel is easy to clean and this was no exception. Honestly, I felt that this was a simple "add-in" to entice the buyer. While I certainly appreciate it, it wasn't the star of the show. If you feel the need to press your food and impress your guests, this is a great choice. Happy grilling! The dome and press are quality items and work perfect.

Works great for smash burgers. Large 8 inch smashers a 12 inch dome. The dome is large enough to do a few burgers at 1 time.

Really good quality and has been used regularly over the summer both on outside flat griddle for burgers and al la planta dishes as well as inside for steaks. Very happy with it

I mean, it's really good to do. Smash burgers, but it's a little on the big side for me

The burger press is good quality but the dome lacks the same build. It would function ok but it was bought for a present and I wasn’t overly impressed so I returned it. It would be easy to use if you were happy with accepting the differing quality. Ok value for money but as I say I wasn’t that impressed. The dome would fit the smashed burgers is you were happy to accept this.
