Prevue Pet Products Replacement Tinkle Turf Pee Patch, Large

This is the second kind of potty turf I've tried and it is better than the first. It drains well. I paired it with a base, which is a hydroponic tray and put a drain tube in it. The tray has deep grooves so the urine drains away from the turf. After my dog pees, I 'flush' with water and let it drain, the drain is positioned so the water just drains off the deck (about 10 feet above the ground and no one below me).. Once a week I take the turf out, spray it and the pan with enzymes and hang it on the rail to dry. It does not stink. It does have a little odor but its not noticeable unless you stand over it. I've been using the same mat about two months now. The last mat I used had a crumb rubber backing and that held the smell terribly.Reading the reviews that complain of smell, one must remember that the urine needs to be drained away, and not left to accumulate in dirt under the mat. If you don't want to use a tray, then dig a hole in the ground where you intend to use it and fill that hole with drainage gravel so the urine will drain away from the surface. If the urine accumlates in surface soil, then it is going to stink and there is no way around it. It must be drained away.

i find this is definitely worth the price. ive tried countless other turfs for my dogs turf potty and this is the only one that holds up. its thick, its cleans well ( i use a sponge, dawn, and a hose), lasts about a month and a half. just overall super good for me and my pet

I know - I don't like to use chemicals at all - but bleach is the only thing that adequately cleans this. I tried vinegar & a few enzyme solutions & they didn't work. I fill the tub (only about 6 inches) with water, let it soak about 20 mins, drain, & then refill the tub - and add a generous splash of bleach & soak for about 20 mins. No smell whatsoever. I dry it in the sun for about 30 mins & hang it dry the rest of the way. Easy & no stink. Potty pads underneath it make every day clean up easy.I have 2 of these - one clean, while the other is dirty. I have been doing the above cleaning routine in my bath tub - (1) soak in hot water, drain (2) soak in hot water with generous splash of bleach for 20 mins, drain (3) soak again in hot water to rinse bleach off. I have been doing this for almost a year now - and only once a week - and there is no stink. This is my dog's primary potty place, indoors. I change the XL potty training pads (Amazon brand) under the grass daily - wash the grass in the tub once a week - and it is an absolute life saver. My favorite pet purchase EVER.

Great construction and great idea. But, my new puppy likes to chew it like a toy. That's probably a problem with the trainer and not the mat! When my puppy goes #1 on the mat, it falls through and keeps her feet relatively dry. I placed the mat over the drain in my atrium and rinse off the mat daily. If I can get my puppy to do her business on the mat, instead of chewing it, I think I'll have a pretty good system!

I bought this product,because I wanted to have a back up, so when I clean the other one {I ordered the pan and turf about 3 weeks ago}, i won't have to wait for it to dry.I haven't cleaned either one yet in the tub, but have spot cleaned the first tinkle turf and the liner,washed up easy, seems to be made very well, should last for a long time.When i got it, it does have a smell to it...but I guess that's what it needs to attract the puppies/dogs to go potty on it.I was debating on the size, glad I did get the Prevue Pet Products Tinkle Turf for Large Dog Breeds, 41-Inch by 28-1/2-Inch...even tho my puppy is only 2.58 lbs it gives her more room to sniff and turn around to go potty.

I had to use a pad under to prevent leaks.

I live in a condo and I'm on the second floor. My dog uses her doggy door to do her business on the deck when I'm not home. The tinkle turf and the plastic bin are perfect for catching her waste. She was easy to train to use this product and I don't have to worry about any urine going over the edge and offending the neighbors downstairs. I put a large training pad under the turf and it soaks up the excess. Cleaning is easy; throw the pad away and hose off the turf once a week

We live in a condo with a dog and a super large patio. Our dog is afraid of the dark so if he has to go at night time he uses the mat outside on the balcony. This is perfect. Its durable, sturdy, and overall good quality. The mats are easy to clean and last along time. To make for easier cleaning as well,, we place pee pads under the grass and just toss them after a few uses. Makes the black rubber easier to clean.

This has been a lifesaver because my dog recently had knee surgery and we didn't want to take her down all the stairs. We set up this product outside on the deck and within a few tries, she's been going to the bathroom on it consistently. Figured it out pretty quick. Thank goodness because she was refusing to go on a pee pad, or anywhere but outside in the yard! So this looked just enough like grass to fool her... so we're both happy.

I have a different system (Potty Patch) but bought this replacement turf was it was cheaper. This mat size is a little bigger than I need but that's ok - I have always felt the mat size of the system I have was too small anyway. My dogs are perfectly happy to use the new mat. So it has 4 paws up.

Bit of a pain to wash but my dog loves this system and has not had an accident in the house since we have been using the turf system!!

Easy to clean and our two pups didn't take long to catch on to using it. We still have lots of snow so we have this placed just outside of our back door. Once the snow melts it should be an easy transition to the real grass.
