Powerful projection and 11/10 longevity!!
Astonishing scent, like nothing I’ve ever smelt before! The opening has a disagreeable burnt odour, but once it settles down the heart notes last long and are thick; Ink, wet leaves, herbal smoulder and damp meadow smell. I find it a very ambivalent perfume. The dry down lasts an eternity!!I've read a few reviews complaining of the poor longevity of this scent, allI can say is the performance on me is supernatural. The longevity is abnormal, I can detect this scent the next day on both the skin and clothing, I can smell it on my shirts after they’ve been washed and are blowing on line!! I’ve really come across no other scent with such staying power. I know an induviduals unique body chemistry have a role in sillage and longevity, but this stuff is through the roof....I have to use it very conservatively, unlike many, (sometimimes expensive) scents I've used in the past.It was a blind but in fact, and one of the best and most unusual I have made. Superb value, at the price I paid back in December - £25.90!! Who can ever work out the mysterious trending ways of Amazon?! I found a 75ml bottle of Armani Code on Friday eveving for £27, I put it in my wish list and when I went to but it a few hours later it was nearly fifty quid!!

excellent entry point into niche frags
ok, first things first - if you're thinking of buying this because you're looking to smell great to a *wide* range of people, stop. i don't think this is that. pick up club de nuit intense (aventus clone) or one of the many, many designer "blue" fragrances. if you're on a budget, Milton lloyd has a clone of sauvage called Leo that's a tenner and will get you most of the way there imo.encre noire translates to black ink, and the perfumer has done a fantastic job with that in mind - i mostly get cypress, vetiver, wood and an inkiness that permeates and ties it together. the thing is, i don't know many people who would like to be constantly smelling an inky forest. I love it, I know other people who love it, but it's not something I'd say has mass appeal. If you see people saying longevity sucks - I don't see how that's possible. This is a pretty ISO e super heavy fragrance, which sticks around. It's possible they're just going anosmic to it.For what it is, I think it's impeccable. The price is crazy for what you're getting. Detractors have said it's "simple" and that chanel's Sycamore does it better - well, maybe, but sycamore is 10x more expensive.encre noire has a well deserved cult status in the fragrance community and unless lalique triple the price i don't see that changing

Encre Noire by Lalique - Dark, mysterious, Minimalist
The media could not be loaded. Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)Dark. Mysterious. Minimalist.Encre Noire ("Black Ink") by Lalique is a cult classic that has carved out a niche for itself in the world of designer perfumery. Originally released in 2006 and crafted by perfumer Nathalie Lorson, it remains a standout for its bold use of vetiver—an earthy, smoky note not often given such a spotlight in mainstream fragrances.Scent ProfileTop Note: CypressHeart Note: Haitian VetiverBase Notes: Cashmere Wood, MuskThe opening is a cool, green burst of cypress, evoking the feeling of a damp forest floor after rain. Quickly, the fragrance dives into its core: vetiver, in all its raw, inky glory. Unlike the clean, grassy vetiver found in fragrances like Grey Vetiver or Terre d’Hermès, Encre Noire's vetiver is smoky, damp, and slightly bitter, creating a moody, introspective atmosphere. As it dries down, cashmere wood and musk soften the darkness just enough, adding a warm, woody texture without compromising its stark identity.• Performance: Longevity: 7–9 hours• Sillage: Moderate to strong• Projection: Strong in the first couple of hours, then more intimate. Despite being quite affordable, Encre Noire performs like a high-end niche fragrance. It's potent, but never overbearing—more of a low, steady hum than a loud shout.• Wearability & When to Wear It:This is a fall/winter scent, best suited for evening wear or moments when you want to project depth and mystery. It’s not a mass-pleasing “freshie,” and that’s precisely its charm. This isn’t for a beach day—it’s for a rainy night, a quiet walk, or a contemplative evening.• Bottle size: The 100ml size bottle should last a decent amount of time as only a few sprays are required to acquire an aura of this intriguing scent.• Bottle Design:The bottle is as austere and elegant as the scent inside—a heavy, inky black square with a wood-textured cap. Minimalist, luxurious, and perfectly matched to the fragrance’s mood.Pros:• Unique, bold vetiver-forward scent• Niche-like quality at a designer price• Excellent performance and presentation• Length: Lasts a decent amount of time with strong projection at the start which gradually becomes more subtle over the course of around 7 hours.Cons:• Not versatile—too dark or serious for some occasions• Might be challenging for those new to earthy or woody fragrancesFinal Thoughts:Encre Noire is not for everyone—and that’s what makes it special. It’s unapologetically dark, earthy, and moody. For those who appreciate vetiver and want a fragrance with character, restraint, and depth, Encre Noire offers one of the best value-to-quality ratios on the market.

Doesn’t last long
Love the fragrance but despite having read the reviews that it long lasting and has great sillage, it sadly doesn’t measure up.It’s pretty much vanished by lunchtime having applied in the morning.I was looking for something that will last all day.To be fair, it’s very reasonably priced and a lovely bottle. But be prepared to keep respraying and you’ll go through it quickly

Lovely scent of fresh sawn cedar! A beautiful blend of top and bass notes.
I love buying scent for himself because he rarely uses it and one as good as this is getting stolen ;) It says it is intense, but it is not a cloying intense like Lalique le Parfum for her. I loved Lalique l'Amour, but it has been withdrawn. This, to me, seems similar but yes, more intense and woody like a cedar forest in the rain. Woody, spicy ad bright. An excellent and well balanced male fragrance that at least one lady is going to stash away for her own use ;)
