Perfect Balance Price-Wise
Any serious DIY'er needs a chop-saw (aka mitre-saw) in their workshop. I researched brands quite a bit before purchasing, but because I'm not a pro using this every day, I didn't want to spend a fortune on something that I might only use a handful times a month. For me, Evolution is the perfect brand for that balance between the two extremes - i.e. not too cheap that it doesn't work, but not too expensive to be a waste!I used this to saw through some 3x2 I was using to build a stud wall and it makes the job effortless. I have also used it to saw through metal too, and done a couple of angled (mitre) cuts on some bigger stock. The saw is very powerful, but feels very solid and safe. I have marked it down a star because you have to play around to get a perfect 90 degree cut, but for me this wasn't too much of an issue, and it's now a key tool in my collection.

Perfect for the non professional
I love this saw.I've been using it for years it's easy to move around and three years later the blade is still going strong. It's not a professionals piece but for someone doing DIY or building their own things its perfect.only negative - it has a slight wobble at the back joint so there's potential, if you're not paying attention, to cut a mm or so out.

Glad I did
Tried to get this cheaper elsewhere but offer had finished so initially reluctant to purchase at this price. Glad I did. Bought it as I was laying an engineered wood floor and needed to cut boards/solid oak skirting etc. It cuts cleanly and the angles are accurate and consistent. My only disappointment is that it will only cut up to a 45 degree mitre in skirting which, if you have an corner wall that is not a true 90 degrees can make life difficult (I understand some saws will cut up to 55 degrees). This is the only reason I can't give it 5 stars but even for the slightly higher price I paid, it is well worth the money. I would, however, with hindsight go for the evolution sliding mitre saw which, while obviously more expensive will offer a great deal more flexibility.

Tool that makes your life easier
Great tool, easy to use for anyone, you could even train a monkey to use it unless it is a deaf monkey, but even then you are able to teach her as she would be using the sign language. Anyway great tool helps a lot with wood, aluminium and small sheets of metal. It`s been a while since I bought it and it is still doing the job perfectly

OK for the small basics.
OK for repetitive small basic jobs. Not suitable for quality joinery - but there again, neither am I! Pre set chamfer and mitre arrangement is not well engineered and as a result inaccurate. Difficult to forecast cut line precisely. Put simply it's the rig that's poorly designed/engineered. Shame, because the saw itself is good. Dust bag also not very effective. In summary: good value but limited capability.

Good little saw.
Bought it for cutting steel and 25 x 50 x 2 box section cut through with ease. Even with 2 welded together. Well worth the money.. Olney thing is bits of steel spray every where so goggles is a must.Good little saw.

Extremely good.
Fantastic saw. Been used lots now and finally writing review. Cuts everything as expected and really has performed well. Just a note to anyone who will be cutting metal, the dust bag does not catch the metal swarf so ALWAYS wear goggles and gloves as the bits of metal are rather hot, guess how I know! The only time I cut metal and didn't wear my gloves and got red hot shards on me. Other than that which is not a product fault, a great saw.

Good Novice Saw
good saw apart from the angle doesnt sit 100% but cant expect miricals from a saw at this price. the blade cuts well so all round its quite good for a novice not a professional.
