I have 3 of these around the house and workshop, tested with various USB devices and micro SD cards up to 1.5TB. I've had various USB hubs over the years and they're generally much of a muchness, but these are simple, effective and having switches on them means I don't have to pull a Chromecast out of my monitor to let my screen sleep or unplug drives to isolate them from a media server. Having a power brick attached has helped here as although the drives worked when direct connected to the server, they weren't recognised going through an unpowered hub.The units are lightweight but feel well built - the only thing I could possibly fault them for is that being lightweight, they'll easily move about. That's what double sided tape or sticky pads are for :)

One of my MIDI keyboards is powered solely by USB which means that I have to plug it in at the start and unplug it at the end of a studio session. The USB socket is a micro socket and constant plugging in and unplugging any socket and in particular, a small socket like this is less than ideal for longevity. Although there are many USB inline switches available, the majority of these do NOT carry data as well, making them useless for anything other than switchable charging leads.This 4 port USB hub has switchable ports making it ideal for my use case but also giving the benefit of three additional LOW current USB ports for other equipment. I have been sceptical of USB hubs in the past and many reviews of similar devices to this describe faulty connections, overheating, sticky switches and early failure so I have kept away from them but felt this one was worth a punt because I only needed one port with a switch. However, in testing, I also connected a MIDI sequencer to the hub at the same time as the MIDI keyboard and this too worked perfectly. The hub remained completely cool over an extended testing period in the studio and the switches performed solidly and reliably so I am very impressed so far.I should say that this is only day two of ownership so I will report back if the hub becomes unreliable in any way!Pros:-- lightweight- compact- attractively finished- LED 'ON' lights- adequate cable length- doesn't get hotCons:-- sockets quite a tight fit (this could also be described as a 'pro' but constant plugging in and unplugging could put a strain on the PCB)- not suitable for charging battery packs- not suitable for connecting high current draw devicesThe supplier does clearly explain what should and shouldn't be connected to this hub.So far, I recommend this device for its intended purpose of attaching low current draw USB devices

The hub works well under standard load, I've tested with all ports being used at once with mechanical devices (like HDDs and ODDs) and it has no issues. The power cable could be longer and the lack of a light toggle is annoying, but they're easy enough to cover with tape.

Great to have a multi port USB PSU that I can switch individual items on and off, this is becoming invaluable as everything now is USB powered :)

This is a great item. My computer is pushed into a corner of my room and if I needed to remove a USB lead it was quite difficult.I bought this for ease of USB lead removal.You just plug the one end into your computer, plug in the electrics and then add in your USB leads, switch on each individual USB switch and away you go. Simple, easy, straightforward.

Very lightweight which is great for travel, but can easily be dragged around the desk if you pull on a USB lead. Power cable and USB cable are both long enough.I use it for USB mouse, webcam, backup portable hard drive, memory sticks and printer.Great price, works perfectly. Recommended.
