What's the difference between this game and the deluxe version?

For those still wanting to find out... The Skirmish Edition is a more simplified version. It's similar to world conquest in the original game. The idea being that you start out with evenly divided, random territories and you must take over the map - or as much of it as you can, before the end of game card is played. The Deluxe Edition has more complicated gameplay, including more pieces (such as castles), more cards (such as characters granting special 'powers), a coin system and more complex rules. Since we've purchased it, we've played the skirmish edition far more - it can easily take up a whole evening and is a lot of fun (if you don't mind families and friends being destroyed). If you have a lot more time and some more experienced risk players, the deluxe version is well worth the investment!

Do you get 4 or 5 armies? I.e can it be played with 5 people or only 4? There is conflicting information in the item description?

Just 4 armies (4players), if you want more armies i will recomend you take the delux

What's the difference between this and the deluxe risk

The Deluxe risk (Dominion) has more houses and two maps.
