VICTORINOX as good as ever.
Recently, my wife purchased for me a birthday present of a Victorinox Swiss Army knife from Amazon. My old "Swiss Army Knife" had been taken from me when I forgot to transfer it into my "Hold Luggage", whilst checking in for a flight from Glasgow to Exeter. I was very sad to lose it as I had had that knife for more years than I care to remember and I kept putting my hand into my pocket for itonly to realise it was no longer there.Indeed it had been my companion and helper through all sorts of situations. I had 'lost' it more than once;(once in my allotment more than 20 years ago, yet when I found it after several weeks out in all weathers, it was, after a clean up and oil, as good as ever!) I indeed had had it so long that the Swiss emblem in white on the red background was completely worn away, yet as long as I kept the blade sharpened it always came up 'trumps'. And the tools on it had many times proved very useful, especially the corkscrew and bottle opener!I'm pleased to say that this new knife - the Explorer - is as good as the old knife with amazingly sharp blades and in addition to all the tools on the 'old one', also has a very handy magnifying glass, which in spite of being only 17mm diameter is extremely effective. And as the eyesight of this 76 year old is not as good as it was years ago, its very useful!WELL DONE VICTORINOX! And thanks Amazon for your usual swift service.

Tip top
Got this for my son. I've got the same model which I've had for 25 years +. Use mine every day and it's still going strong. Great little knife.

Best Swiss Army knife Ever
Once a boy scout always a boy scout.....had one of these when I was young and lost it on a camp. Ended "upgrading" to a Leatherman Charge TTi, which is probably the lightest from the full size multitools but over the years it began to feel too bulky and heavy (232g) for everyday carry. Decided to get this Explorer, didn't need to read much on the quality and guarantee on these knives as I was very accustomed to them. Did take me awhile to choose which one would be best and by far this was the best bet. For its size (4 layer, 91mm), weight (105 g) and functionality, I think its one of the best everyday carry knives in the Victorinox range. Yes its missing a saw but in the urban jungle I think the trade off with the magnifying glass is a much better option, both functionally and reduces weight. Also I have a saw on my Leatherman if I'm going camping but to date I think Ive used the magnifying glass much more in the last few weeks compared to the saw on the Leatherman that I've had for 5years. One more important thing, this is one of the few swiss army knives that have a phillips driver at the top of the handle rather than mid way on the back, makes huge difference in the functionality of the screwdriver.Ive also purchased the mini screwdriver (£3) that inserts into the corkscrew and theres a small hole to store a straight pin near the corkscrew hinge so now its closer to the explorer plus (which i can't seem to get here in the UK) with the exception of the ballpoint pen.All in all, its a great knife, razor sharp, easily pocketable and doesn't weigh you down like other knives with more functions (most of which you don't use). Best ever.

Almost every tool a person could need!
Victorinox Swiss Army knives are excellent quality and so useful to carry in the handbag. Great little pair of scissors, bradawl, and, of course emergency corkscrew:-).

Good product fast delivery
What can I? It turned up quickly. It is well made, as I excepted from this make, not like many other makes and nothing like as expensive as Leathman. It is legal in the UK. Getting some of the bits out can be a fiddle. Nothing too bad but long finger nails could find it a problem. The blades are sharp. Not the hardest steel but shouldn’t be too hard to sharpen when the time comes. All in all exactly as I expected and will live a long and useful life in my pocket as long as I don’t loose this one.

Still good steel that holds a sharp edge for long time
Had my original one of these for years, great steel that holds a very good edge for a long time, very handy to have, smaller and more convenient than my leatherman.HOWEVER- one criticism- victorinox have changed the magnifying glass , the old “ mount” was more of a flexible plastic and was sturdy, this version has a clear brittle plastic mounting and on one version I had the lens fell out and was lost, I’m assuming a cost cutting exercise and a mistake, old version was better - otherwise a useful tool

Almost perfect but?
The Victorinox explorer is a great SAK for edc ! The model has almost the perfect tool set for me if only for the addition of a file blade was included I would use this every day and forget the other models I own!Top quality products from this company as always have been! Nobody makes pocket knives like Victorinox, with this level of quality in a mass production its astonishing I've had countless dozens over the four decades and never had a duff yet!Prices are going silly in the world and sadly Victorinox have had too as well but you can still buy good here on Amazon at well below rrp . What ever you pay you are getting a supreme product that will last for decades and so become value for money!Just beware some models lock in the larger series so non legal carry even though its a swiss army knife! No such problem with explorer and the blade is below 3 inch also. Highly recommended model if you want a Philips screwdriver and a handy magnifier lense.
