KitchenCraft Egg Separator Tool, Plastic, 14 x 6.5 cm, White

This is much better than my previous method of using two halves of the egg shell - BUT, it could be a bit better. The whites sometimes get stuck in the slits round the sides. Perhaps they should be a little bit wider?But compared to my previous method, much, much better.

I was sceptical about buying this, however, I have used this about 3 or 4 times and I'm very happy with it. I crack the shell on a hard surface like I usually do and plop the egg into separator. You might have to jig it about a bit to get rid of the egg white to fall out of the side, but it's not a problem. I recommend purchasing for an amateur baker.

Essential kitchen product if like me you're not very good at separating eggs by just using their shells! I just sit it on top of a cup, crack an egg into and watch the egg whites drain into the cup. It really is just a big plastic spoon with a whole in the side so I think it is quite pricey but nevertheless does the job it is supposed to do.

I read the reviews and decided to order this item as it sounded excellent. However, on first using I found the yolk was saved beautifully in tact but the white had difficulty going through. It may have been because I was using large eggs, but I think my old fashioned method of separating egg and yolk by hand is more risky but as long as all goes well more satisfactory. I shall continuing using the separator and hope next time things will be better.

Does what it says but no better than just splitting the shell carefully

Works great in separating the yolks from the whites, and it's big enough to rest over a glass or small bowl. The yolk doesn't break and it's quick in separating as well, overall a great product that does what it says on the tin and at a good price.
