The Artist's Guide to the Anatomy of the Human Head: Defining Structure and Capturing Emotions Paperback – 27 July 2017

Excellent book. It’s taken ages to understand the structure and the way the face moves, this book was key. It’s explanation and images of where light hits have given me a real understanding of shadows on the face and my portraits have drastically improved as a result. Before I could paint a face, now I can paint a face with expression and have successfully developed smiles in portraits I have painted that I’m informed have captured the smile in a way that the original photo didn’t.

Its a good book for those interested in how the head is made up. However if you are looking for a book to show you how to draw the head then you would be better off elsewhere!
