Q: Will this work for a SP4 and allow for the standard charger, not the dock, to be connected at the same time?

This item when plugged in will not let MY Furface Pro 4 power to be plugged in at the same time. The unit is too long and the power connection interferes. But it works fine on battery power. My unit is NOT compatible with the surface pro charger - either the dock or the normal recharger cable.

there is no power port, nor anyway possible for power adaptor use. It can only be plugged in the usb port, then extend out with 5 ports (2 usb, 3 card slot readers)

Hi, Client You can chose Surkit-A, Surkit-FN(with HDMI port)&Surkit-GN(with HDMI port) for your Surface Pro 2017. It also works with the Dell XPS 13-9333, but it covers the charging port. You would have to remove it while charging.
