Robust Crockery
Although light weight Corelle is functional as well as pretty. All right it is rather expensive for a set of crockery you might say but when you are fed up of chipping your plates then trying to find a match try Corelle. I have three sets altogether. Two for home and one for the camper van. The matching pattern cups are porcelain not the Corelle material.

Just one of the smaller plates was broken. Probably due to it being placed inside my external container box (instructed by myself). I wonder if I can get a replacement for this one plate? Thanks

ELEGANT DESIGN, PERFECT SIZE, GREAT VALUE
I bought this Corelle Boutique square dish set to replace some Corelle dishes I've had for over 30 years. Honestly, these dishes are indestructible and I gave up waiting for them to break. It was about time I had new dishes and I especially wanted the square plates. I didn't buy Corelle at first. I found another brand with square plates in a pattern I really loved. I got them and was shocked at how heavy and clunky they felt. After so many years of Corelle, I was spoiled for anything else. So I began searching "Corelle square plates" and found this Kyoto Night pattern.DESIGN: The main body of the pieces are stark white - not cream or off-white. I loved the blue and gray flowers and leaf design. It looks like a watercolor painting - almost an oriental essence to it. The colors are shades of light and dark gray and shades of a smokey blue - not navy and not teal.SIZE: The dinner plate is 10.5 inches across its widest part. (I looked all over for a square plate design UNDER 11" because my cabinets are exactly 11 inches deep and every other square plate I tried bumped the cabinet door!) These plates are not straight edge squares -- they have a slight curve and the corners are rounded. The plates are slightly concave so that any juices from your food will not run off the edge, but not so slanted that your foods slip towards the middle. The lunch plate is 9" and I often use them as dinner plates if we're having a simple casserole and veggies. The bowls are 6" across and 2 1/4 deep. That may sound small, but believe me, these bowls hold a very generous serving of soup or salad. As a cereal bowl, they're perfect because you can enjoy a large serving of cereal and milk without worry of it sloshing over the rim. The only negative with the bowls is that that do not have flower design on them anywhere. They are stark white with a small gray line around the top of the rim. I wish it were a smoke blue. But I still find them lovely.THE MUGS:My favorite are the squared coffee mugs! They appear delicate, but have a good weight - definitely not thin like porcelain or china. They look elegant with the flower design sweeping across one side and a bit of the gray leaf motiffe on the opposite side. It's a small detail, but I think it makes the mugs look elegant. The mugs hold 14 ounces all the way to the rim. But a 12 ounce fill leaves a half inch or so at the top so you don't spill. I put my Keurig on largest setting and it fills the mug to about 3/4 of inch from the rim, leaving enough room for creamer without overflowing. The only complaint my husband has is that since I bought a new smaller microwave, the dinner plates are too large to let the carousel rotate. I can still use them in the microwave, but once the plate rotates a quarter turn, it gets hung up on the wall of the microwave and the carousel continues to turn under it. Mostly I just use the lunch plates in the microwave - problem solved! And really, it is not Corelle's fault I bought a small microwave!TO COMPLETE YOUR SET:I also bought a set of 6" dessert plates in plain white and a set of 5" dessert bowls in white with the gray line on the rim to match the bowls in this set. These are available on Amazon and also at the Corelle website. If you're looking for a high quality, long lasting, eye-catching set of dinnerware - you must buy these! The are a bit on the pricey side compared to other "everyday" dishes, but as I said, they will last forever with very little worry of breakage. Worth the investment!

Way prettier in person
This set is beautiful! The blue and grey on the white background really pop. Corelle is a great company and their dinnerware is very durable and light weight. They always stack very nicely and do not take up as much room as my stoneware sets. I do wish the price was a bit cheaper, but I've been looking for new dinnerware and this set was worth the money.

Holds up well and great design!
I bought a set of these in August 2018. They held up amazingly well that I just bought a second set so I can use them around the holidays. They are my everyday plates and show no signs of wear. People are always saying how much they like the design. There are two sizes of plates that are both on the larger size. The bowls are pretty small and just plain white with a gray strip around the rim. I use them for non-liquid food items since they are a little shallow. The mugs have the design on the outside and are kind of square. They are unique, but I don’t use them often because I like a mug that’s a little bigger than these.Overall, I highly recommend purchasing a set of these.

Square shape and pattern are beautiful
I really like the Kyoto night dishes, the colors and pattern are beautiful, The indigo blue and grey match the colors in my kitchen perfectly, I had a older set of Corelle's that someone gave to me, they were very light weight but I Didn't Like the pattern so I updated and really like this set of dishes ( I bought 2 sets of these) and I luv the square shape, and I really like the size of the salad plate to since most are a bit too small, or it could be used for a lighter dinner when needed.

beautiful
I love this set, as it goes perfectly with my new blue pearl granite island table. We've adjusted well to square, as opposed to round. However, I did need to purchase a new stacking rack for my cabinet, as these did not fit where my previous Corelle Shadow Iris were. After 2 months, they've held up well. I would prefer there to be some smaller dessert plates to this set. This is the biggest issue for me. We used to have dinner, lunch, and dessert plates in my older Shadow Iris set. I've ordered some plain white Corelle square serving bowls, but not much else is available to go along with this set. I knew this going in, but I couldn't find a better match to go with the blue pearl granite in our kitchen. I purchased 3 sets so that we have 12 of everything....a must have for whenever the grown kids come over to eat, or not wanting to run the dishwasher every day, when it's just the 2 of us. The pattern does not cover as large an area on the dinner plate as on the lunch plate. It would be nice if it had better coverage...but it is what it is. Tea cups are beautiful, though maybe a little small for my cups of tea. Love the pattern, so I will put up with these minor issues.
